I was coming down from Bear Mountain today and got to the bottom of the hill starting onto the freeway and noticed my car was at 500 RPM in 4th gear at 60mph. Tried to reselect a gear and there is no connection between the motor and rear wheels. Didn't hear a pop/bang/boom nothing. Towed to over to a shop and I guess I'll find out what gave way tomorrow. Sad times.

On Topic: I'm down for the following Sunday 1/24/16. I'll be busy this weekend working and working around the house.
Semi-On Topic: Also very short notice, but there is a JDM meet tonight 8-10pm that I'm thinking about going to. https://www.facebook.com/events/510787525765430/ Quote:

Should have free rolled and just had no brakes and warped rotors instead? Oh well, live and learn. First time owning a manual car and first time coming down a mountain in one.

Have to work tomorrow morning, so thats no go on tomorrows C&C for me.
That JDM meet left a lot to be desired but I didn't expect much more out of a JDM meet haha. A few GTRs, a RHD r34, Ferrari 360, M4, Alfa 4c, R8, some Benzs', few Targa Trophy guys, to name a few. There was a lot more that were strait out of the junkyard, neon lights, running on 3 cylinders, and 2 feet of exhaust pipe sticking out at a 45 degree. As for size of the turn out, if the Euro meet is the same size I'd be happy. Probably 50 cars or so over the hour.5 I was there. I will still be attending on Wednesday. ~However, the plot thickens, maybe for the better. Turns out the shops first guess was incorrect. They only did a quick look at it since they were super busy and finally put it on a lift today. They said they used two techs to check and see what was and wasn't moving, and the clutch is engaging. But the diff is F*cked. My first thought was the diff when it happened + knowing the previous history of trauma to the diff/axles with passed owners. Im going to pay the shop their time for pulling everything apart and have it towed to my dealer(JLR Dealer) and put a LSD in it myself. Since they quoted me $4400 for a new factory diff and axles and all the other garb to go with. Only had it dropped at their shop since I dont have time for this shit right now. But when you're talking about $4400 I got time for that lol! I'm driving my 'winter beater' 2006 e90 325i for the time being.

I mapped a route for us. Starting from where we left off last time, at The Irvine Spectrum Rooftop to the Festival Center in Anaheim Hills. I thought it would be more interesting if we have our cruises go throughout all of The OC, so I had this go toward a different direction. Here is the route.
Meet Here Park Here There is a Chipotle, BJ's & The Habit at the end location. Last edited by AndrewA; 01-15-2016 at 10:08 PM.. |

Looks like a good route, I'll try and steal my Dad's X5 if I don't have my car back together.
Looking at a MFactory one.
