Guys it's coming I promise, but I can't give you a specific date just yet. You gotta understand they are working to get this part engineered correctly so there aren't issues in the future. Their standard for testing is rigorous so that they can guarantee us the part we have all been expecting.
I'm pushing to get this done by the end of the year, but no promises. This is bigger than we all thought, just to make things short and simple |

Fluid dampr is losing a lot of business, they just passed this odd time of failures ramping up. As much as I wanted one, I had to change mine because a failure is too inconvinient

Not really. How many 335d's or 35d's are there? Compare that to the domestic car/truck market, our little community isn't even on their radar, which i assume is why they haven't put much into the M57 damper.

Guys 335dsleeper is half right.
It took 6 months just to convince Fluidampr to make this part and now that they are actually working on it, we need to be patient. The reason why I chose them is because they make the best diesel damper PERIOD. Even on diesel generators this part never gives up and will probably be the last part standing in our vehicles. We kind of got them at a bad time since their diesel truck department is blowing up to another level. Consider it a gift when this comes rolling off their lines. And I know, our stock ones suck and we're literally on our last inch of life so it makes it even more frustrating. The prototype mold as I said has already been created. Next the part will be sent for fitment following the first engineered creation. After this they will send two representatives to test torsional vibrations and any other data they will need to guarantee this part will behave with our application. We have a nice little market here with the 335d and x5d, but nothing in comparison to the Europeans and fortunately they are there to make sure this happens. On another note. Just yesterday I pulled up to an x5d with your typical soccer mom and son. Just thinking before she took off, "I wonder if she knows about the remarkable ways we can make these vehicles better and more reliable and efficient". Sure enough when she took off you could hear the turbos spool with an odd smell She already knew, aftermarket adoption is high... What I'm trying to say is this part will help everyone, even the odd onlookers to this remarkable BMW diesel forum. Thanks again, and seriously I feel your pain! |

Yeah guys. It has been clearly stated that it won't be until late this year at the earliest. If you can wait 3 months+ for this, then go ahead. But if you're trying to wait it out with your stock balancer that has 80k miles, you're just asking to get stranded.

This is not only going to happen, its happening.... if you have your factory one....keep it.....dont replace premptively....if it goes...get the cheapest one you can find...... then replace it with this in a couple months... My biggest problem is, now that I have the x5 and the 335......my 335 has one thats only 20k miles.... im sure the x5 is on the factory one.... do i swap them? do i get 2? I dunno....tough call......but the good news is..Ive got 2 vehicles with the same part, i will always have a spare (yes, that was intended when i bought it) |

By the way i wasn't stranded, i just turned the a.c. off and fortunately was about a mile from home, funny thing is it it works fine with the a.c. on but as soon as i turn the wheel the balancer stops tuning the belts. If i leave a.c. off the balancer seems fine until i turn wheel then it stops turning the belts, must be a big load from the ps pump, bigger than I figured. I should swap to an electric ps pump from the mr2 lol. Draws much less power and I can mount it anywhere lol.
