Denville BMW

I just signed for my new 330xi to be ordered from Denville BMW in New Jersey.

Got the car for exactly what was agreed in e-mail, $43,329 Out the Door. The car is MSRP $43,520. 330xi Jet Blk/Terra/Poplar w/ Automatic, Premium Pack, Heated Seats, and Rear Park Assist (including all season mats/wheel locks). The breakdown on the vehicle was:

Car: 40383.02 (Invoice was 39,895, so $488 over invoice
Tax: 2,422.98 (6%)
Tire Fee $6
Registration/Title Fee (4 yrs) 319
Documentation Fee $198
Out The Door-$43,329

I was very impressed with how everything went, we were in and out in around an hour. The next 6-8 week wait should be tough!

That is probably not a good deal.

You should start with dealer invoice not MSRP.

In Va. you should pay between $500-$750 over dealer invoice.

What would be a good deal from invoice in Eastern PA on a 330xi?

The SA gave me $700 off MSRP on a cold new customer walk in to the showroom, said he expects to make a profit and said "I'm not selling Fords or Chevy's".

Don't let them have their attitudes like that. You should be able to get 1000 of MSRP, and free tail pipe tips, matts, metal pedals and tint. If you are ready to buy, whatever they say, let them say it but stay on your statement and demands. Check their prices and shop around. You could even shop for your car on a nearby city and maybe they would even deliver it to you at a lesser cost with more extras . It all depends. If you are ready to buy they should actually welcome you and try to get you to buy at their dealership instead of another one.
Watch out for dealer fees. Ask if they have them any and why. Check those against other dealers in your area.

Better yet, start with invoice, not MSRP. 1K off MSRP is still approx 2K over invoice for a 330xi so that's NOT a good deal at all. 1K or less over invoice would be a decent start.

And yes - definitely call around to different dealers. BMW or not, they still want to make a sale and you should at least find out the fair market value.

I want to purchase the follow:

2006 325i

-Metallic Black Sapphire (what's the difference versus the Jet black?)
-Steptronic 6-speed automatic
-Onboard NAV w/ voice recognition
- ZPP (premium package)

I'm located in Northern California, my questions are:

- how much over list price should I be negotiating for? When I bought my 2004 330ci I negotiated $1500 over list price.
- does this combination seem like it might need to get ordered from Germany or is it basic enough to be on a lot somewhere?
- I plan to put about $20,000 down on the car, what type of financing does BMW give? Should a car loan from a bank be a better bet?

So the list price for the above comes to:
$36,245.00 without tax license and stuff.

$40,317.71 with 8.25% tax and $1000 markup. This sound ok? Or should I be able to get a better price?

Funny, this price is like $2000 less than what I bought my 2004 330ci with sport pkg/nav

Thanks in advance!!!!

Both those prices are way to high.

Figure the dealer's invoice and try to get it for $500-$1000 over that.

Yeah, I'm in Houston. I didn't have any luck with the dealers in Houston, so I ordered the car out of Maryland. I'm doing the Performance Delivery to pick it up in South Carolina.

yea, i always get a laugh when people say they got a free hat out of the deal, or a free key chain. my salesman handed me one of those cheesy gold keychains after i signed the papers and said "we usually don't do this, but here you go.." I wanted to throw it at him..
