I just plugged the adjusters in and set them on top of the intake manifold. then started the car and watched them through the gap between the hood and windshield when the hood is up.

you can see them open/close when you turn the car on and off, and also when you rev the motor up

Verify the part number. I'm pretty sure all N52 3-stage intakes are the same. I'm not sure if the 2006 X3 had a single stage manifold. Ask for pics to make sure.

This reminds me a lot of the old E36 M50 intake manifold conversion days.

I found a used intake manifold from a 2006 330 with 52k miles on it. The website has the following description:

"Intake manifold w intake air adjustment unit/DISA valve"

Is this what I need for my 2006 325? The price is excellent, and I realize there may be some parts missing.

I just wanted some guidance before I pulled the trigger. I just got the car and I've already got the mod/tune bug.

Have them show pictures, 2006 still had e46 coupe in production which do have DISA aswell.

Otherwise yes, you found it.

This is awesome, yes we can piece together with used parts... But to be able to buy in 1 shot all the right parts, no guess work, OEM and Brand new priced right..

x10.. Def in my future & a tune.

Turns out it was too good to be true...they only had a valve.

There's another listing for the part from a 2010 X3 at a reasonable price. My understanding is that this would work too. Is that right?

Thanks for the help. I've been lurking on this forum for quite a long time. A very good community of folks.

I have manifold from 2009 X3, it was direct swap to 128i

For it should work for you, just know that you need to buy or carefully reuse the oil hoses that are not found on stock X3 manifolds.

I would do a quick search for @DESI4life10 posts he mentioned something about hoses and manifolds and how they differ between the years. Posted in late summer 2012.

Searched through all of his posts during the summer and end of 2012, but didn't find anything specific.

I'm enjoying the reading involved with these mods/tunes. I'm sure I can track down the part numbers for a '10 X3 and compare them to the 2006 330i.

I also used an old x3 manifold on my 325xi. Like you said, just use the current hoses ans all will be ok.

Sure! Just order the special through our site, and include a note in the order comments like "remove vent hose"....we'll remove and lower the price by $53.90.
