[QUOTE=Shane23;9072180]Yea id like to know this also...
No update to the 2008's and older. Just had my SW update last week. My friend just had the new software on his 2009. he said there are display differences. Plus it is not playing music files correctly off the USB. Not displaying song titles or something like that. |

I had the original 2007 nav disc with the car, many roads were not in that version. I just downloaded the 2011 first time without issues., it loaded up and now I can see my street! Thanks this was really easy! I tried to do the same thing with my Trailblazer and it just doesn't work, the BMW system seems less sensitive than GM's system.
It does seem a tad bit slower however. I'll give it a few days to see if it speeds up. |

first time posting, would like some help from all you knowledgeable folks:
i downloaded both the .rar files, unzipped them, and burned east .iso file using ImgBurn on lowest speed (4x for my drive). used a Verbatim DVD+R Life Series. inserted into my 2007 E90, and received a message saying new navigation update was detected, and to shutdown the system for 5 min., at which point i turned the car off for 5 min. after 5 min i turned on the accessories, heard the navigation drive working, but then it displayed "Please insert Navigational DVD," it wasn't reading the disk. took out the DVD and reinserted, and still not reading. what am i doing wrong here? this is the second type of DVD i used (first was Memorex), and the first time it displayed the message about new navigation update. also, to prevent me from making a lot of coasters, is there anyone that can send me working copies of both DVDs for a reasonable donation? thanks. |

Your brand of DVD is fine. Instead of shutting down the car just turn the nav off for 5 then reboot. If no better results, you will need another copy because that was most likely corrupt. I can burn you a copy of mine if need be. let me know if I can help out. ![]() |

Following SpyDeputy's lead, I switched to a Verbatim DVD-R lightscribe and it looks like it did the trick. My BMW's drive seems to be more finicky than most.

well, it looks like i solved my issue, which seems to be that i didn't let the system reset itself properly. i reinserted the East DVD i burned, reset the navigation by pressing Mute and both Eject buttons, and it worked. seems a little slow in calculating new routes, but at least i have updated maps. thanks for all the info and advice folks.

If you want a disc, email Spydeputy his email address is here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=406 I'm in Canada, so it will likely cost too much in shipping for me to send you a disc. Good luck! |

Those with issues- burn at the lowest speed your DVD-R drive will let you.. Then try it in the car
