But, to be fair, if they didn't set a rough timeline we'd be complaining about that.
It isn't HPF's shop car so i guess they can't take any chances with a compromised K member

The 2nd stage will be a larger turbo with our intake manifold and fuel injectors and rail.

Before we can hit the dyno we need to build a strong engine brace support on the bottom of the car (right where the V-brace was). My guys will order up the metal tomorrow and we should have some dyno results later on in the week.

I can't post pricing on this thread but we already have pricing figured out.

Chris.
Isn't it on the HPF Website for $5950?

Haha, I think a few low 11 second N54 drivers would disagree. But I know what you're saying; there are better platforms out there for drag racing. That being said, most of those cars suck in other important areas, and I would guess that more people on the BMW forums drag race than any other type of racing (M3 forums are probably the exception).

I would say if drag racing is your thing, then you should not be driving an E46 M3.

Well, After my short visit to HPF before my long drive to Kansas I had the distinct pleasure of driving the first HPF 335i.

Im not going to write a big review at this point because its not completed and also because its not my place yet. However... The only way to describe the car even in raw form at this point is "Brilliant!"

The V Brace is complete and the car can now drive without worry. However it has not yet been tuned. Even on low boost, and with still zero tuning other than the stock base PROcede tune.... LOL.... The car Rocks SOO Hards its more than thriling. 12 PSI 3rd gear, 30% throttle... Tires spinning. Boost with the 62 turbo IS instant, No Lag, in fact I know i have not drove my car in quite a while but I would say there is no difference in boost response. Other than the fact than its fast as fuck.

Also i would like to note that the car does not just feel like a 335i with a large single. It feels completely different. as if it has a small V8 in there. The power band from what i can "Feel" is nearly 100% of the RPM range. It just feels strong the whole way. I would assume this is due to all the unnecessary old hardware "Piping" being removed and the fact that the engine is free to spool since there is zero intake restriction.

thats probably the most i can say at this point.

So to sum the car in two words... HELL YES!

was getting boring around here until now! Congrats! I had the same V8 feeling too when upgrading the 2 small snails.

Congrats!

I'm a bit curious about boost onset though. I find it hard to believe that a big journal bearing turbo provides "instant" boost from three liters and a tune developed for a couple of tiny twins. This defies some universal truths of turbocharging and... well... physics.

Still though... Awesome! I'd be lying badly if I said I weren't jealous. This makes me all the more impatient to finish up my own project.

It was mentioned earlier, but there is base single turbo tune on there. they aren't just running the normal twin maps that everyone else are

That PTE is a GT35ish housing and I believe Chris said "Stage 1" is a journal bearing turbo. Instant onset is hard to believe, regardless. I hope I'm wrong though!

he may have been a little excited from finally driving the car after such a long downtime. i'm sure he meant the lag was less than what he expected...not that there wasn't any at all.
