All the software and map updates that we have provided have been completely free. Just like we promised. However, we also said that we may charge for additional features and function. Either in the form of a subscription or an a la carte fee. In the case of v2, the work we put into it far exceeds the work we put into all the v1.x map revisions combined. It required a complete rewriting of the firmware, new user software as well as additional harness electronics.

The money discussion is waste of time. V2 is more than worth the price and this can be understood. Those who still complain can stay away from V2 and continue using V1.
V2 is a bargain. Eugen |

Many people are gladly spending $150 in lightbulbs and reflectors (about $75 for each mod) and get 0 hp gain. Hell, even a dealer oil change is ~$135. Where else can you spend $150 and get ~40 more horses to what you got already? |

![]() It's like people saying, "oh you drive a Bimmer, you must be rich." Oh well, it's just a personal pet peeve. Back to our regularly scheduled PROcede program... BTW, those mochas are good ![]() ![]()

Sheesh, there's a lot of drama about 150! Sure, I wish it was less (I was hoping for $50), but Shiv has got to cover the new hardware and development costs. It 's a business! I'd expect that there will be free updates....v2.1, etc.

Shiv says he wants a hundred fifty bucks. Not much you can do about it. Either pay it and get the new features or keep you money in your pocket and enjoy what you have. There's always Terry and his self-admitted boost controller.

"The only way to make more power with this car is with more boost, its tuning 101. In tuning 101 you also learn that the more power you make the higher the cylinder pressures and the higher the risk of engine or turbo wear." He might want to actually take an EFI class one day. Because peak cylinder pressure is moderated by spark timing more than peak boost pressure. The extra power comes from a higher average cylinder pressure during the right time period bang portion of the combustion cycle. Peak in-cylinder pressure, too early in the bang period is what breaks things. This is why the extra boost is always offset by ignition retard in a properly tuned system. Something that resistor boxes can't do. Shiv Last edited by OpenFlash; 09-01-2007 at 08:35 PM.. |

i would, but it wouldn't be any good, they removed the aforementioned posts.
something about somebody recently installing a Xede, and praising the gains, then somebody said something negative about said Xede and how good a PROcede, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, and the rest you can imagine. its a recent thread BTW. edit: Shiv, what the hell was that hunch...its been bugging me ever since you mentioned it. is it top secret or what?

I can't believe some ppl are complaining about an extra $150 for this PROcede update, which really is an "upgrade," since it adds many more features than v1.4x...not to mention an extra ~40WHP and scalable TQ!!!!
![]() I spent almost $100 for an ITG air filter, which pretty much does nothing, imho, and I'm ok with it (although I can't say I would neither recommend nor dissuade someone from buying/installing one). My point being that PROcede v2.0 is obviously a much more refined (with the elimination of the infamous temporary limp mode), scalable, and dynamic version of the PROcede than v1.4x...you get what you pay for, imho. ![]() In addition, it seems fairly obvious that Shiv and his team have decided to go in a slightly different direction with 2 versions of the PROcede...the full blown v2.0 and the PROcede "Dark" for those folks who want a "PROcede Lite" version of the product. This in turn also makes the PROcede v2.0 worth more; for a total of $1,450 (or $1,515 if you got the code reader), you get an additional ~ 100WHP and ~ 100 lb.-ft. RWTQ...sounds like a bargain to me!!!!!! :rocks: ![]() Either way you look at it, the PROcede v2.0 should prove to be worth the extra $$...I have ZERO doubts about it, and I'm looking forward to upgrading to v2.0 ASAP! ![]()

I'm with you guys, this is horse crack! $150 is too much. We should all boycott the V2 upgrade. To teach Shiv a lesson everyone here should NOT log onto the Vishnu website at 12:00 pst on Tuesday!
I will take it upon myself to send a complaint directly to Vishnu, at 12:00, on Tuesday, by way of credit card. ![]() |
