Spool has improved since base with logs of 18.5psi @3600 in 3rd.

It can probably spool quicker but I'm starting logs around 2700 or 3000

What's the consensus on removing the rear cats? Did it make your car much louder?

How's the tuning going? Are you still with the Cobb or MHD these days?

Nothing noticeable, its still silent inside in 5th and 6th 100km and other cruising speeds.
If I stay in 5th and hold at 120 you can start to here the exhaust but put in 6th and its fine.

Has a bit more noise at particular rpm point loads but only very slight.
If someone that owned a n54 jumped I they wouldn't know if there's cats or not
Still on Cobb

If I want more power ill be up for about $5k getting stage 3 lpfp and port injection and mhd and 4 bar sensor etc.

This is more then enough power, I'm starting to slip around in 3rd.

Yeah it gets bloody expensive...

Turbos $5-6k installed
PI $2.5-3k installed
Stage 3 FP $1K installed
clutch $3-4k installed

Kinda why I'm hesitant to stray from oem twins and 320rwkw

Least I have all the basics done in terms of reliability (coils plugs hpfp vcg m3 driveline LSD yadda yadda)

Had a quick look at the spec sheet for the schwaben tool i dont think it does injector coding mate

It does injector coding.

Check out general scan tool discussion on e90 n54 section.

I opened the 75 pages but I've already read from ecs and others about what it can do.

A bit of ad engineering intercooler data.

33.5c 92.3f ambient temps = cruising temp 107f intake temp

While cruising between 80-100 in 5th or 6th. If you put throttle down lightly-moderate it drops 2-3 instantly.

I'll get some wot data tonight

I'll post some links to datazap for anyone interested

checking some more cruising iats 29 c ambient (84.2f) cruising 100km lowest i could get iats was 92.5f so abou 8-9F

Just went out to just get iats and didnt log iats!!!!!
Any way it had an iat rise of 17 over a 3-4 wot both gears over 6k rpm after cruising and havine a starting iat og 100 or 102

I have a 3-4th log starting ambient 30c which i thought i had logged iats.

Just imagine the log starting at 100f and rising to 117 at the top of fourth cause thats what i seen on the screen.
I was really hoping for 10f

I dont think its much better then the atm intercooler. it does seem to take longer cooling down after sitting for a while then the atm intercooler, maybe cause theres less mass metal therefore it gets cooler quicker?

ill try and get an actual log of iats over the wknd.

I have actual logs now.

http://datazap.me/u/brule/ad-enginee...=0&data=2-4-16

I honestly think the atm intercooler performs better in iat suppression. Hard to tell because they are different turbos but...

Ambient temps were 26 degrees

rises about 5-7 f over 3rd gear pull
rises 21f over 3-4th pull
rises 27f over 2-3-4 little bit of 6th

Im pretty sure I wouldnt see near 20f on a 3-4th wot with atm intercooler.

About two weeks ago I cleaned out my entire datazap three years worth about 11 pages so I don't have any logs anymore.

Anyway dont buy a big arse intercooler just buy atm or wagner evo2 or jd75s new one looks promising.

From now on I'm only logging at the track. Its too dangerous.

Third gear has a fair bit of sliding.

Next logs will be a test and tune on April 8th

I'm not sure how much power it has but its enough to break traction in third.

I'm making 316 rwkw and it never use to break traction in 3rd when logging.

So when you stand on it to log in 3rd gear it starts to get loose straight away or around 4k rpm?

Around 4k even on a flat nice road. If its bumpy it gets real loose

I still have your old tyres on which are pretty low on tread.

Tyres have 38 psi in them all round

Those goodyear F1 A2's were good tyres, but by memory the rears were worn more than the fronts.

With the power you're putting out I would reccomend some Nitto NT05's

Even in 1st gear WOT I get minimal wheel spin when I step on it (with the LSD of course) with 275/30 NT05's, it just hooks and goes Having said that you would have probably 50-100kw on me though

I'll have a look at nto5s.

I need something for the drags.
Throttle control would be handy.

There's events on about every two weeks now at Darwin hidden valley. Drag and track days.

The first thing to do to get more traction when running a decent amount of power is to halve the factory rear camber recommendation. I can't remember the factory spec or what I run, but I halved it. The suspension still has camber gain and I did not lose any cornering grip at all but gained traction. The factory toe recommendation is good.

It has alot of cost getting everything going well.

I think its a pretty cool car with aircon, good stereo and LSD to play with.

I still need suspension and a bigger oil cooler. Then that should be it.

I'm going to a lap sprint day on the 2nd and drags on the 8th April.
