Agreed. Just depends what the buyer wants. I ordered an E92 new and have bought 2 E91s and an E82 on the used market. For all of them RWD was a requirement, no iDrive was just a strong preference.

I wouldn't have spec'ed my E91 any differently new other than maybe a different color combination. It's Black Sapphire on black with silver trim, RWD, 6MT, M Sport, HarmonKardon, Xenons, no CA or Nav. Sitting at 68k miles currently. I occasionally contemplate selling it but I like the car too much even if I could get $30K+ for it.

Sell it to me, but I can't afford $30k though. You have the specs I want RWD, 6MT, HK, Xenons. M-sport is nice to have. CA, iDrive or Nav I don't really care about.

I couldn't get the link to copy, but there is a 2009 RWD 6MT with 70k miles on cargurus for 12,500. White on saddle with sport package, better act fast. Its in California or I might have bought it.

Saw this one too. Trying to maybe coordinate getting it. Anyone in the area want to take a look and not buy it for themselves? Haha

Struggling to figure out how buying as an out of stater in california works. And how to have a secure transaction for myself and the seller.

Just finished my replacement e91 6MT. This was the one I drove all the way to Northern California/Lake Tahoe for after a lot of flaky sellers.

https://ibb.co/z29zpzK

https://ibb.co/WvzMBBm

Still have my wife's red e91 with the m3 conversion that she daily drives as I had it posted here for sale a few years ago, but no one was looking for an e91 back then (its an auto).

Also an interesting note, I keep getting voicemails from the guy who I wanted to buy a car from months ago prior to me driving up to buy my current replacement 6MT e91. It was the guy who had the blue e91 for sale locally on bmwcca, when I wanted to buy with cash on hand he wasn't even trying to sell it giving me excuses that he wanted it to be published in the roundel magazine before he shows it and asked if I was a paid member as he didn't want to sell it to anyone that wasn't a member. A few days after I bought my replacement car, he calls me asking if I wanted to buy it. I said, I just went on a road trip and bought one, and he says his is better, sell mine and buy his, I said no thanks. Fast forward to a few days ago (months after he listed for sale) he leaves me 2 voice messages on back to back days asking me if I'm still interested in the car. Who does that?

Thanks! Contacted seller and he said it is in high demand, so might be too late already.

I just reached out on this one as well, but I am probably too late. I didn't get notified because my CarGurus search is looking for manuals and this one is tagged as an automatic - first time I've seen that. Usually it's the other way around.

Seller is asking for best offers. He said he already has offers over his $12,500 listed price.

Normally would never cross-post. However, this just popped up in the for sale forum:

They definitely go both ways. Would recommend not filtering on transmission. Or leave the filter on... Less competition.

That is mega weird about the BMWCCA guy. I don't see a blue one for sale on there, tho. Strange.

It's the one that sold for $30k on BaT earlier this year.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2011-bmw-328-46/

Edit:autotrader ad says 2nd owner. Maybe the BaT sale never completed? Or the car was never registered..

Always blows my mind when people buy a car like this on a national stage and then expect to get an exorbitant amount of money over what they paid selling it privately. I see it happen OFTEN with BAT cars. Just shows those people get caught up in the bidding and overpay and regret it.

Honestly, that transaction on BAT probably never went through...odds of the car being sold in Houston through BAT to another buyer in same city are slim. Owner knows a 16k mile 6MT single hump with MPE and sports seats is super rare, so why not shoot for the moon?! I mean it works for EAG...they’d have this car listed for low 40s I’m sure...

Chances are, seller is also probably lurking around on this post as well to observe market reaction....lol.

The pictures and license plate in the Autotrader ad are the same as those used in the BaT auction; I agree that the odds of the BaT winner being in the same city and now listing the car are very remote. The bidder must have flaked and forfeited the 5% fee (unless it was a shill bidding account willing to pay out the 5%).
