I have a 2007 335i with original headlights..... let's just say, they were a little hazy.

Steps I took:

Taped off the headlights & fog lights w/ yellow 3m tape used for automotive body work.

Wet Sand:
1) used 400 grit
A) swirl motion
B) side to side motion

2) used 600 grit
A) swirl motion
B) side to side motion

3) used 2000 grit
A) swirl motion
B) side to side motion

Repeat process again for good measure.

Took 3 large garbage bags a part and taped them to the front of the car.

Followed the outline of the headlights and fog lights with a pair of scissors and created holes in the garbage bags where the lights are. I then taped the garbage bags to the tape that was already outlining the headlights and fog lights.

I used Rust-Oleum 2x Ultra Cover gloss clear w/ UV protection.

I sprayed the lenses about 12" away, waited 5 min, sprayed it again & waited 5 min and sprayed it a third time. I waited 1 hour and then repeated the process again.

I had a some orange peel effect on the passenger side. So, I used 3000 grit & wet sanded the lens.

I then pulled out my dual action porter & cable polisher and put 3m perfect it no. 1 on a chemical guys orange pad. Setting the polisher to 5 is polished the lens. I used 3m no. 2 on a chemical guys white pad and polished it.

Perfection....

My last step was to wax the lenses with some Black Fire/ Black Ice hybrid wax.

The lenses look like they are almost brand new.
Pics or it didnt happen

Same. First DIY oil change for me on the E90.

Then I replaced the heater control valve on my E34.

Installed BMW P.E. this morning. Washed and cruised with a buddy and his 35is. Wrapped and ceramic coated my new downpipe this evening. Once I find the time to get after these leaks. VCG, OCG and OFHG sometime soon.

Flushed and replaced the transfer case and front differential fluid. The LSD was serviced earlier this summer.

Interesting observation - forward diff was surprisingly clean, while the transfer case was filthy. I think the TC is a clutch unit. The fwd diff is open. Makes sense the TC would get dirty.

Fixed my 003FF code (absolutely no boost). I had just done by VCG, OFHG, and OCG. I figured while I was at it I might as well change some of my vacuum lines. Well I screwed up apparently and the ones I got from Autozone, the dealer was closed, were shit. The temp of the engine melted them and one came off completely. Once I changed them out, no more boost problem.

Swapped out my valve cover for a brand new one! Had to change them out because of a crack in my Crank Case Ventilation Valve Membrane... It would be too easy to make the valve replaceable...Right? But where is the profit in that?!

Drove it like an old man, more or less. Breaking in the Spec stage 3+ clutch I just had installed. What's hard is keeping track of local miles (which count toward break in) vs. highway miles (which don't).

Mtech rear bumper and CF diffuser installed. CF wing painted & installed as well.

I'll throw tips on the PE shortly. They are apparently delivered to my house but I don't have the box.

More to come...

I just did mine last night. I thought it would have been somewhat simple without and special tools. I have big hands, an N55 and bolts that are tucked away so far and behind, under, up, over and to the side that it makes you wanna breathe under water until you end up with that warm fuzzy calm feeling. But! well worth it when you can get on it without imagining the worst.
