oh well i couldve talked about lasik today. We design instruments for lasik procedures as well. Who wanted it done? But you can tell me about who said what in the commitment issue department.

Yea evidently it's a huge pain in the ass. I was considering doing sway bars for my xi, but decided ultimately not to.

I was going to get lasik since I've been wearing glasses since I was like 12, but evidently it's not a permanent procedure. You have to go back every like 7 or so years since your eyes keep changing. After thinking about it, it made sense, but I was looking for something longer lasting. Maybe I'll wait until they can perfect the gamma ray technology to use in reshaping the actual rods and cones int he back of the eye lol.

There is another procedure called LASEK which is newer surgery and a little more lasting. Or you can get PRK or RK in which they place a marker over your eye and then make slits with a diamond blade knife. Those slits reshape your cornea. Its a little uncomfortable for a 1-2 days but the benefits are much greater than LASIK or LASEK. Not that may surgeons still perform it because lasers arent painful however if you can tollerate it then thats your best option imo

Less complications that Lasik. Lasik has an 8% complication risk factor while PRK and RK have a 4% risk factor. The problem with lasik is you put your trust in the machine and not in the surgeon. If his calculations are off then the procedure has to be done all over again. Complications can include dry eyes....spots at night....glare at night....teary eyes.

Yes yoru right PRK is more painful but at least your cornea isnt sliced off (by the way it never re-attaches and if you rub your eye your cornea can slide left right up or down. Its cut like a hinge. If you check the stats Lasik procedures are way way down. But different surgeons wi
