Congrats! Echoing what eljay said, you'll be fine with 1.

The car seats are the problem when you have too many kids like us. We have 2 toddlers and an infant and got a pair of Diono seats for the toddlers. The infant seat fits in between, but I think 3 Dionos across may not work since the infant seat base is a couple inches narrower.

The storage is enough to do a grocery run with a stroller in the back. We haven't done much shopping since the pandemic but we've taken both E91s when we've gone to Costco or IKEA and thought space was going to be an issue.

The only reason we'll need a different car is to accommodate 3 of the car seats in the back if that becomes an issue. I don't understand why people think they need a 3 ton SUV to accommodate a couple of kids. FWIW, we had my E82 and my wife had her 318ti when our first baby was born and we lived to tell about it!
Funny you say that since when I bought my E82 it was from a family that had one toddler and they said it wasn't big enough : although its fine for me since I got a 1 series for cheap

Great family hauler/daily but I'm playing around with the idea of getting a F31D.

Are those Xenon lights? If so, which bulbs are you using for the angel eyes? They look clean and bright!

Good looking wagon by the way. I debated getting a F31 Diesel instead of an E91; however, the F31 motor and transfer case issues turned me away.

Sharp looking E91. How many pedals does it have? Thinking of selling?

No iDrive, so the dash only has one hump for the gauge cluster.

Now what I don’t know is why single humps are so desirable? CCC in 2020 doesn’t blow me socks off but I’d rather have that than scroll through the MFD.

Just to add, we cannot fit our infant seat behind the driver, and it doesn't fit in the middle either. It'll just barely work behind the passenger, but the passenger gets a bit cramped if its scooted up enough. The E91 is fine as a second vehicle for occasional use, but I think it'd be a pain to get everything in there for a longer road trip. Maybe when my son is front facing, but we've got at least another year in the enormous infant seat. We've got a Chicco Fit2, in case anyone is curious.

The lack of room is mainly why I've been eyeing E61s, but my wife has an MDX that honestly is all of the road trip car that we really need. For road trips, our MDX swallows all of our crap including our ridiculously large BOB stroller, gets almost the same mileage as the E91 and who cares about handling when you're just pointing it at the interstate and setting the cruise.

It is truly a fad I am convinced. Like you said, it won't blow you away with its features but having bluetooth sound, quick ability to scroll through music/radio/car settings is way better than the MFD/non iDrive radio. Ill never understand the single hump obsession.

I can appreciate the work you’ve put into the car but $13k for a salvage title 200k+ mile car is absurd.

Cars and bids just had an auction wrap up for a similar but clean titled 6MT car for $7500. Best of luck with your sale.

Bummer to hear this, someone just gifted us the Chicco KeyFit 30. Sounds like it will be a tight fit as rear-facing for a while! I will have to test-fit it once we receive it. My niece's front facing car seat had no problems in my E91. So hoping I can last with the rear-facing infant for a while (the car seat that is! .

The rear facing car seats are absoluely insane and take up a ton of space. I had one in the back of my E46 when we had it, my poor wife who is 5'8" was not thrilled. But we managed. Same thing in my E90 when we had car seats in it for a brief period, better than E46 obviously, but still not ideal. Once we got into forward facing seats, it was a huge breath of fresh air! And now, my girls are old enough that my 8 year old (extremely tall) sits in the front seat, and the younger 7 year old is in back with simply the booster seat...

If you can survive through the rear facing seats in your E91, just push through it, its not forever and I don't think you should make car purchases based simply on that, the car seat phase is only temporary.

God bless you both! I agree 1000%. Many people say that the single hump dash is "the enthusiast build" which I think is total BS. We're all enthusiasts, regardless of what options we like. Personally, I want my cars loaded up... Leather, iDrive, heated everything (yes, even in South FL I use heated seats)... Like you both said, the Nav might not blow you away, but just the ease of getting to settings is enough for me to always be a two-hump dash fan.

Right here with you my dude. Everyone has their own definition of what is an enthusiast build. And we're all enthusiasts here at this point.

Enthusiast E91 to me is:
LCI with pre-LCI heated mirrors, m-sport bumpers and trim
N55 / 6MT / AWD
active cruise
Double hump dash w/F series NBT Evo touchscreen nav/apple carplay system
heated sport steering w/m-sport trim
heated seats with a nice individual soft leather.
logic 7 individual audio sound

BMW never made this car, so I personally could care less how it came from the factory 10 years ago

Now that I have a truck that I use for most truck things though, I'm leaning towards setting up the e91 for my stepdaughter for going away to college, selling my TT, and finding an e88 or e93 to do all the mods to...

Yeah sorry to bust the bubble a bit. I'm sure when our son is front facing it will be fine, though they're supposed to be rear facing for two years! We're halfway through that but now my wife is talking about having a second one...

Won't someone think about the BMWs?

I'm sure I'll take some fire over this, but please don't get too focused on the time that a child is supposed to be in a certain car seat. These "laws" vary state to state and more importantly, every child is a unique case. Depending on your child's weight/height, the rear facing may become too small. We turned our daughter around at 1 year old. She was simply too tall to be rear facing any longer. I see too many people insisting on rear facing car seats and all these other rules and then putting their kids in absolute piece of shit car seats. Instead, having the safest car seat and having the kid fit in it properly I think is a better idea. I don't pretend to be above any laws, or know better than any scientists, just my opinion.

I agree!
We turned our daughter around early as well as she was just too uncomfortable in a rear-facing seat. And her forward-facing seat is a good quality Britax. Despite the cost, we got two as we use two cars and swapping them is just too painful and this way we are not limited to taking only one car.

Yep, we had multiple Britax seats as well.

Might consider selling rather new to me E91 Wagon (~11 months new)

07 RWD A/T; ~84k miles on it.
TiAg Ext/Black dakota interior;

I believe I am the 3rd owner, the wagon spent all its life in DC area.

Roof has a few dings from previous owners doing the roof-rack thing

Exterior: 7/10
Interior: 8/10

Pros:
- Recently done WP/thermostat with various coolant hoses replaced
- ABS pumps replaced due to code
- Rear brakes
- Driver side seat replaced by a sport seat off of low mile X1, heat/bolster all works perfectly
- LCI halogen lights
- A/T filter/fluid replacement; P/S fluid reservoir replacement

All the works above happened within this year/5k miles ish combined.

Cons:
- Surface rust on rear subframe carrier
- Front tension/control arms will need to get replaced
- Front brakes in the near future
- Radio screen pixels when hot

What would be a reasonable price to ask if I were to list it for sale? Not trying to make fortune on a workhorse wagon but curious.
