Ok, I have been the MANAGER of a pool that employed over 150 staff (about 45 at one given time), responsible for training them, overseeing the whole facility AND handling thousands of dollars for deposits every night. They paid me $9.75/hr and I was making more than 6 of the 7 people in my department, only $.25 less than a kid who had been there for 5 yrs.

Wow, i was kinda pissed about the $60/hr for the PT job. Guess i should be happy then

some stuff more than others though.... they actually discount things like TV's and Stereos so much just to get people in the door then they make most profits on the accessories like cables and whatnot. Here is an example:

My TV was advertised @ $1429 on sale... I went in and said I can get it cheaper somewhere else blah blah blah. Since I know the whole system of how Best Buy works, I asked the guy to be real w/ me and tell me what employee price was cuz to price match I know thats the lowest they can go. Got it for $1250 and change. $180 bucks is a good discount for sure but think about this. The HDMI cable I got (for the 120hz motion blur on the TV) was priced at $119, which was made by RocketFish (which is owned by Best Buy) and he was nice and gave me the employee discount on it as well... $13.48. Do the math... where is the majority of profits coming from?

I figured that is where they make all their money. Those monster cables have a HUGE markup. You can get the same set that they charge $130 for $20. Just have to look online. Forgot the name of the website that has all these cables.

I typically go to NewEgg.com for cables. For that matter I go there for everything I would typically get at BestBuy.
