Im sure i'll be back in business in less than a day or two. I'm looking forward to trying out v400 stage 2+ maps.

I could've sworn there was a boost cap on Stage 2+, but yesterday when I went WOT in 3rd gear, I saw a peak of 19.5psi in the midrange. I only saw 18.5psi peak exclusively, but ever since I switched to lighter wheels and tires, I am seeing an extra 1psi.

Tomorrow I am going to the track and see how it does again on the same v301 maps I ran last time. Hopefully I trap 117mph again on pump gas, but if I trap 118 I will be even happier.

I think 19.5 is the cap. Most people just see 18.5 on a daily basis. I've hit 19.2 a few times.

The new stage 2+ aggressive map v400 don't make any more power than the old v301. I confirmed this with Robb at cobb.

That's just a spike when you let off throttle. The motor isn't really seeing 19.5 psi.

I've seen 20.7 psi

Been using the new maps for a while now and no issues whatsoever. Very stable, very smooth, and very fun.

When I am cobb tuned (stage 1) no mods the service engine light comes on and I scan the code and it is comming up misfire cylinder 3. But when I remove the tune the code is no longer stored and it runs fine. I do not want to just go fixing stuff on my own since the car is under warrenty and if can get the code to stay stored they will see it when scanned and fix it. Any idea or problems of the same?

This has been discussed many times. Pushing more boost shows weakness of parts . Change plugs first if they have lots of miles on .

I think the poster is raising a different issue -- i.e., how to uninstall the tune but keep the code so dealer might fix problem under warranty.

How many miles on your plugs? Are the injectors original?

Yup, and I don't think that's possible. Have a friend with the Cobb, and his dealer told him to leave it on and bring the car with the misfire CEL - and replaced the plugs/injectors. But I really wish this were an option - here, piggybacks are useful.

I wish this were possible as well, I tripped a CEL misfire code a few weeks back while on a Stage 1 tune. Removed the tune to make for an appointment for the dealer to look at, and what do you know the code is gone and hasn't come back since.

I don't even remember which cylinder it reported.

With all the talk recently about E85, would the AP running Stg2+ v400 take any advantage of the higher octane mix?

you need a map done to run e85. you can probably get away with a small % but i got for example a fuel mixture code when i run 1/3 e85 in my car. You will clean up possible timing pull but you wont gain anything. You would need the RACE map to get gains aka more timings and boost.

That's what I figured, but I wasn't sure if an OTS map would have at least some compensation for higher octane fuel

Not positive, but there have been cases of that happening reported here.

Of course you 100% agree with that. The man wanted to " uninstall the tune but keep the code" which is impossible. You're saying he would uninstall the tune, which would CLEAR the code, and that it would come back, which is perfectly reasonable.

So the consensus is no, you will not be able to " uninstall the tune but keep the code," but you should put your vehicle back to stock and have the code fault again and THEN take it to the dealership.

Honestly, if you're getting a code that does not re-appear stock, you can only blame it on the aftermarket software and, therefore, you cannot expect BMW to cover the fault under warranty.

I know one way to help throw the code on the stock tune. Brake boost the crap out the car and I bet u get code. That's what I did. Try it.

And why would a brake pedal/accelerator pedal plausibility code (aka smokey burn-out code) suggest to a dealer that plugs, injectors and/or coilpacks need to be replaced?

BTW, I trigger that code (2A8F??) all the time on track from heel-and-toe downshifting.

I'm not saying to do a smokey burnout. I am saying build boost while your going about 30mph by holding down the brakes and gas while moving. I bet you through codes for whatever is wrong.
