Fold down the back seat and push the front seats all the way forward.

I bought this mattress in the "full" size:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

It JUST fits. Its actually about 2 inches too wide so what you do is partially inflate it, slide it in, then finish inflating it and it wedges itself between the rear wheel wells and wont move. The top of it sits on top of the back of the center console and fully inflated the mattress is rigid enough it doesnt dip down. Im 6ft tall, I think it could fit a 6'2" person before they have to move on their sides and bend their knees. I also got bug netting and some magnets and put those over the windows rolled down for fresh air.

I slept like a baby and am rested enough to ride a motorcycle on a track the next day.

My girlfriend found it claustrophobic (you def cant sit up, but can lay on your side) even with the sun shade open but I passed out easy.

Hey all,

Visitor from New Zealand here.

Picked this critter up as a fixer upper to sell on… Found this set of 19x9.5/8.5 wheels, love the look so much I’ll keep it a little while instead! Had wanted a 335i wagon for a while and planned to use this as a stepping stone to a DCT model.

Debating if the wheels stay gunmetal or go silver. Looking through this thread I’m still torn, but they need a touch up regardless.

Relatively stock - it’s lowered on springs (it needs coilovers because the ride is shocking coming from my last Evo x), has a charge pipe, SS downpipes, intakes and off the shelf MHD and XHP flashes. Feels like the 400hp or so it should have.

Plans are an LSD, intercooler & secondary cat deletes, decent front bumper (has the standard super boring e9x) and an overall tidy up.

On the downsides, It’s a non msport, the drivers seat doesn’t lift, and it has the terrible fake walnut interior, but it does have black leather, full sunroof, and fits my mountain bike in the back. Win some lose some

I am also noticing the chrome window trim!
I haven’t seen that in US on e91. Only the black chrome or black rubber/plastic.

Its funny because back in the E30 days it seemed to be the opposite. We were all coveting the shadowline trim here in the states.

Ha! That’s funny.

Similar to the E chassis and F chassis headliner.
On E chassis a lot of people want the black headliner and it’s harder to get, I think.
The black headliner is a lot more common on the F chassis.

Its also a pretty good tent:
Now if only the car had a cow catcher, you'd be set.

That's a nice idea on the awning. We usually have an easy-up for the car and one for our camp chairs and stuff, but that'd help a lot in the sun or rain.

I had to sleep in the car two months ago at a race during a thunderstorm, and found it reasonably nice (besides the humidity and windows fogging up). A Coleman twin air mattress fit perfectly. I did find it better to sleep with head in the tailgate area with feet between the seats then the other way.

Ive always done better with my head above my feet but I could see where if you were taller (and solo especially) you could extend it a bit with the feet up there.

For airflow I cut bug netting for the side windows that hangs using magnets and then I leave the windows down under the awning. No dew.

The only issue is the key never lets the car go to sleep, I need to remember to pull the battery next time because the car was a little sluggish to start after a 3 day weekend at the lake.

How the hell did you get the PDC sensor on that part of the bumper cover? I just drilled holes for by PDC yesterday on an M Sport bumper and the bumper seemed to be in the way of that section.

I ended up drilling them higher below the grill.

Go for it. Given how I use mine Id be more likely to do that than anything else. I sometimes scrape the underbody plastics.

Question is, how? The old IX cars had longer springs but they have long given up the idea people were actually taking the AWD models offroad. Back in the day people were sourcing different perch pads too, but again dont know if that stuff is around now. Also how do you adjust the speedo/odo?

Oh I am! Just need to figure out what to do with the suspension to make them fit. Wheels are BMW style 360 painted black.

I'm in the same boat. My car is currently lowered with H&R springs, getting to those remote trailheads is quite tricky lol.

Still haven't decided on a direction to go yet. I've read X1 springs will fit the front, not sure about the rear. Theres also a 40mm spacer lift kit that some Ukrainian company makes lol. Maybe coilovers?

Re the speedo/odo: hoping my friend can tune/code it in. He tunes cars for a living, so he should be able to figure it out

Everyone wants what they don't have.
North Americans want no side markers and amber rear turn indicators and Europeans want the opposite.

Have you tried a dry fit, just in the garage/driveway to see? Isn't 205/55/16 the stock fitment for E9X chassis? I feel our cars may snug it in. I need a true fitment so I can go buy this setup ASAP I don't want to wait!

Okay, they actually fit... Car is lowered on H&R springs. 12.5mm spacers on the front, 15mm on the rear. So far zero rubbing, even at full lock. Tires are much softer than my Michelin PS A/S (obviously) but surprisingly quiet. At 80 mph I couldn't hear them at all.

Still have plans of lifting it, but this'll do for now

(sorry for the massive photos)

Is this on stock xDrive suspension? Looks meaty! Wondering if more tire could fit in there? Haha

Stock shocks, H&R lowering springs with E30 spacers on top of rear springs to help remove the front rake. With fully stock suspension, I'm sure you could fit a little more meat in there
