Got the car back-
Steering Wheel Heat fixed! But.. They now say they did find a fault in the nav system but the uploads did not take. Need to bring the car back. Very disappointed with this round of service. They mentioned that had a BUNCH of cars with the same problem, and it's a known problem that BMW is trying to fix. Sad that when you get a $2100 option, this is the result. |

ohhh yeah , big necro bump !
So I'm searching a fix for this issue, but most thread told me to go to the dealer, which I wont do ! My car is a retrofitted queen, so the heated steering wheel. Issue : It will heat for few minutes, then shut off. When I turn it back on, it will shutoff after few seconds each time. Any ''easy DIY'' fix yet? fuse is not the issue, I'm using my deleted cigarette lighter 12v+ circuit. |

Maybe try a different 12v source as a lighter wouldn’t typically draw for more than a minute or two? Maybe the voltage logic shuts it down preventatively?

oVeRdOsE. Not sure if this will work for you, but one workaround is to wait 30 seconds after starting the car (or after driving away) before turning on the steering wheel heater. Page 5 on this doc (https://bmwtechinfo.bmwgroup.com/sib...0209Slides.pdf) mentions the car detects a voltage drop when it's first started and turns off the steering wheel heater to conserve power. I believe the proper fix is to replace the steering wheel heater button with the updated part.

anyway, not essential, just fun to have. I've noticed that with those fabric cover, it insulate the wheel, it's not hot at all, far from my F25. At least it looks good. |
