M Sport wheels on 335i coupe from South Africa factory

here's a pic i got of the BMW facory website in south africa. it looks like a right hand drive car. The wheels are 18" style 193 Mstar which come with the Msport package which does not seem to be available on the coupe anywhere (not on the UK, south africa or US website)

either this is a special order, or they are planning to supply an Msport coupe soon...

If this is the case I plan on badgering my local dealership untill they give me the wheels I want ahaha.

I tried to order the 197 wheels with my 335i Coupe. They wouldn't do it. I did go through Autoland (broker), so I'm going to see if I can get a dealer to do it for me. Or once the cars start selling more, I'm sure someone will be willing to trade on Craig's list.

ONE SIMPLE QUESTION?

-I would like to have 17" OEM BMW rims (for winter) on my 335 Coupe and I keep hearing from people on this board and others that 17" wheels won't clear the brakes..... If that is the case -how come 188's are STD equip on the 335 Coupe in the UK?

-Can I install 17" Rims from the E90's or E92's on my 335 Coupe.....

Thanks in advance.

IMO, you cannot go wrong with the BMW OEM 17" rims. There should not be any difference between US and UK standard spec setups. In fact, I am too considering purchasing a set of 17" 188 style for winter.

How Much Do the 189s Weigh????

Anyone have this info? I have the 189s and am thinking of getting some wider wheels (tirerack has some nice BBS rims with 8.5" in the front and 10" rear). I would prefer to know whether I am adding weight or reducing overall with any wheels I get. I think I spent two hours surfing for this info but can't find it anywhere. I am starting to think I need to just pull a wheel, pull the tire and put the thing on a scale!

Many thanks for help!

This may have been answered elsewhere, but how wide can you go with 335i coupe rims/tires? What is the offset? I am looking to put more rubber on the pavement, and to add a LSD, so that it is not a 1 wheel wonder.

Style 230 Wheels

At the risk of asking something that's been covered hundred of times before, I was wondering if anyone knows why I can't order my 335i with the Style 230 wheels in the USA. I absolutely love those wheels and the fact that my dealer says it can't be done is incredibly annoying to me.

Is my only option to buy them from a dealer in Canada and then sell my Style 189's?

Thanks everybody!

It seems to be hard to see the 197's on a real car--I am getting these on my new E92, but haven't seen as many pics as I would like. Searching does little--most of the pics are just shots of the wheels that people are looking to trade or sell.

There are pics of 189's all over this forum--you will not have any problem finding PLENTY of those.
