Matt just worked on the car again and we found out it's the actual strut that has failed causing the noise on my car. I found this out AFTER I purchased new endlinks which is money down the drain at this point. I sent all of the videos to Eric at supreme power parts to see how they want proceed with resolving this ASAP. This is not what I expected from FK with only 2900 babied miles on them.
you can clearly see the middle shaft moving when we put pressure on the strut. The passenger side did not move at all. Here is the video I took a few nights ago driving down a street going 20mph over small bumps, manhole covers etc... I put my iphone right on the driver side dash. Alan

Mine is only on the drivers side. When we tried shaking the passenge side it was completely solid and made no noise. It was quite easy to make it clunk on the drivers side with one hand.
Try jacking up the front of the car and push/pull on the wheel. It would be obvious if you have the same issue as me. I am just hoping that SupremePowerParts steps up and gets me a replacement strut asap. I'm not going to wait months and drive my mew car like this. Who did you order your kit from? Alan

I'm surprised i didn't notice this on my own. I must have taken off my front wheels half a dozen times within the last couple of weeks trying diagnose this issue thinking my endlinks were loose.
Pretty f'ed up that we all have new cars that make noises like a 10 year old POS! Alan

^^mine could just be a fluke. Aside from this issue I love how these coils feel. Plus they are lifetime warranty but we'll see how true that is real soon.

Just got back from seeing Matt...Its indeed the endlinks that are bad...I have the first version endlinks which are the copper ones...I was told by Matt that these were prone to get loose because the nut didn't have what the new versions ones have which is a lock nut, and the joint are not well made compared to the new ones...I just bought the coilovers exactly a year ago on Jan 4 2009 and these are already gone to shit...I am going to call Eric on Monday to see what he can do for me...I just can't believe that FKs have all this problems with clunks and defective parts...I hope Eric can send me out a new pair of endlinks I have a $60k car that sounds like a POS...
As for your issue Alan, mine doesn't exhibit that clunk, but based on your video and speaking with Matt, its seems like a defective piece if you ask me........ |

Don't get me wrong, when I first installed them it was great...I love the way it makes my car handle and ride....They are nice when everything is working...My problem is not as severe as Alan's, I only need the endlinks to be be upgraded and changed out and hopefully SPP steps up to the plate for me and Alan..
