Thanks Cory, I will give it a shot. I was leaving on last Amber but found the car hesitate when I wanted it to go. Will launch a little sooner and that should drop it down. What sort of tyre psi do you guys usually run on the 1/4 mile track?

I'm AWD, so standard street pressure works great. Try 26-28psi. Also, make sure you are in 1st gear on launch.

Any tips for lowering my 60 foot time? I am thinking of lowering psi in rear tyres and mixing some e85 for a e30 mix next time I go.
Launching a DCT is very difficult. No brake boosting so you only have two options. 1st is just mash the gas when the lights turn yellow. 2nd is to use the cars factory launch control. At least the 135i LC is 3500 RPMs. The 335is LC is 5k RPMs. I tried it once and just blew the tires off. BuraQ gave me some pointers today on how to use the LC and not launch at 5k so I'm gonna try that out this weekend. You're never going to cut 1.6 60's in a DCT though. There have been some pretty good ETs lately from DCT cars. I'd say try using your stock LC. I also have a set of MT ET streets now just for the track on a set of 135i style 264s. They hook really well.

I saw a post from burq and he was saying if you let the brake out as far out without completely releasing it and give some rpm but whilst keeping brake to stop car moving is how to get the car off the line without hesitating as the DCT is affected by brake because the clutch engages if you quickly take foot of brake pedal. I might try both methods and see how it goes as heading to the track tomorrow night

Yeah, I'm just going to wait until I get the 135i LC flashed on the car before I do any more drag racing. I've got some parts to put on too so it might be a while.

just went to a 1/4 drag strip last night and witnessed a N55 335i sedan pull a 8.66??

Car didnt sound like it had catless dp or an exhaust system. Maybe just a tune. Very interesting.

I ran once mostly stock with some DP's and a tune on OEM wheels and runflats with a Cobb AP.

1.7 - 60 foot
12.0 - 1/4

Since then I have Apex wheels Hexon RR600's and RB inlets with MHD. After TBI I will shoot for a 10.8-11.1 pass!

I like your enthusiasm but plan on yanking every non essential ounce you can if you're serious.

Old thread, but I just ran at Reynolds today. Stock other than a BMS dci on 93, temp was around 85 degrees. Ran 13.1@106 with a 0.124 r/t. Ran in normal D mode.

My 60ft was 1.8x, did a healthy burnout and had no wheelspin. My first run was 13.7, but the first run I opted to bypass the burnout box and got hella wheelspin when I came of the brake.

Good time for stock, why not Sport mode?

Hey guys. Dead post, but I was wondering about a launch. A lot of this is tips on a launch for AT, but what about 6MT? I can't ever seem to get the launch right. I went to a parking lot to practice, and I either lose all the RPMs I built for the launch or burn the clutch bad. I've only a couple times gotten a good launch, but I have no idea how I did it.

I might try and 2nd gear slow release, higher RPM launch.
Or just keep practicing. After so many, you will figure out what works.

I could. Mine's pretty much stock as far as I know. I thought it was bone stock when I got it, but it has an ETS. I'm not sure how to know about the rest of FBO, but it definitely doesn't have JB4. I doubt it has flash either. I got it from the dealership used, and it really doesn't feel any more than 300. Point being, I don't know that I need a second gear launch yet. I kind of keep the clutch pedal to right before it's about to bite when I do the initial rev, but I'm not sure if that's doing damage. I also have to let it catch for half a second before I come up completely. I just don't want to burn my clutch out practicing again
