What'sthe deal on the shark fin on the trunk of the E-93? I noticed that in the US Production Guide that it can be deleted. Is it used only for the satellite radio and not the Nav system? Any info would be appreciated.

Its only for satellite radio. If you delete it though, satellite radio will NEVER be an option for the car later on.

Another one. They still don't have a date for Comfort Access whereas BMW NA does! Testing was done for both FCC and Industry Canada at the same time and the U.S. gets it cut into production for March.

C'mon BMW Canada get a move on.

Now that we've seen Comfort Access delayed in the US till March production, I would have thought that it's just a matter of weeks before BMW Canada releases this option for March production as well. Do you think we might not see it until April/May production?

Thanks for the information. I think I'll use the Ipod/USB interface option or even the Aux Input and pass on the shark fin. I am not sold on satellite radio just yet. I don't plan on adding it later and I prefer the cleaner look without the sharkfin.

U.S. has not been released. Bimmer Magazine states that the UK pricing for the 328i convertible (325i in England) will be approximately 2,100 British Pounds more than the coupe. This means that the difference will be about $3,800 U.S.
However, the difference in the 335i pricing will be about 4,000 British pounds, which is near $7,000 difference.
For what it is worth, usually Bimmer Magazine gets it correct.

Take a look at page 4 of the U.S. ordering guide. It looks like a sunroof. But I don't see any mention of a sunroof (std or optional) in the guide. I know there was much speculation whether BMW would include the sunroof in the production version. Anyone know if the sunroof is for real or BMW is just teasing?

What appears to be a sunroof is really the rear windshield. No sunroof as far as I've heard.

Does anyone know when you will actually "receive" the car, meaning taking the delivery if you order in january?

Dealer should fitst have a production number for you, next to come would be the build week (eg. build week 8 means it will start build the week of Feb 19).
Then it depends on the timing of the ships, any last minute mods at the VPC and where you are located. We need more info.

I think 47K is about right given BMW's statement last week (reported in an article on the intro) that the 335i conv won't be much more expensive than the 330ci. That is more than a fair price given the hard top, the new engine, and the inclusion of items like Xenon lights that used to be options. But as you said, I wish they'd just release the price already.

Yeah I realized that after looking at it a little harder. Too bad. I've got a feeling BMW will add this to the '08 or '09 model. The Volvo and the VW (lesser cars IMHO) have sunroofs. No reason why the 3 shouldn't.

It is too bad, although I don't think the Volvo C70 has the sunroof. The VW Eos does for sure. While I really like the E93, I've been struggling with the E93/E92 decision. I especially love the E92 design. The lack of a sunroof on the E93 is a bit of an issue for me, since there is no way I can drop the top during 6 months of the year here. Also, even in the other 6 months, it's always nice to have a sunroof during the rain. These points are especially true considering the E93's interior may be somewhat dark as it has a completely black roofliner irrespective of interior colour. Here's a pic that Brett posted yesterday showing the roofliner.

OK, what's the latest on the pricing release date? Is it going to be tomorrow, 1/15? Sure would like to know what it's gonna cost me to get into an E93?

Advice on '07 E93 Extended Warranty

Hello All:

My '07 E93 just was built on 2/5/07, going through quality and hope to receive after its done from it's four +- week delivery "cruise."

Since this is the first year BMW is offering a hard-top convertible, I'm worried about problems arising after the 4/50k expiration. Has anyone purchased an extended warranty and if so, what should I expect to pay?

Also, my sales rep told me that the iPod/USB option can be installed after delivery. The brochure indicates that it's not available until March '07; although, my car is already built? Does anyone believe that this option can be both installed at factory or as an after-market feature?

Lastly, I'm thinking that with all the extras, I'm running close to $57k, any insider info yet on pricing?

Patiently waiting,

CJ
