How did you wire the vacuum box? Have any photos? I think I'm going a similar route. I'm putting in the M3 center console trim piece and wiring the buttons to things I've added.

right now the vacuum box is connected with the 12V socket that came with.

I dont believe there a viable 12v acc source in the trunk, Ill need to source it in front and use a relay .

I need more searching, I have a E91, so I might have more option that E90.

My exhaust is pretty simple ; hfc, vibrant resonator and valved muffler. 3''

I didnt want to do a dual exit for 2 reason : I wanted to keep the cargo floor space, and single exit sounds better on a n54

Love the single exit. If I had unlimited money, I would have done a single exit for my E92. I still don't have my car so I don't have any feedback to give on the Gravity exhaust. I will update!

worked on it yesterday.
so tap a fuse box in parallel on the 12V socket in the back. Turns out this outlet is on ACC, so only on with key.

Tucked the vacuum box in the void. It's squeezed between the trunk panel and the acoustic foam on the fender, so wont move.

once again , this is a E91, so way easier.

Never had it drone, sounded smooth and loud enough, not to a point to be annoying and obnoxious on long drives, but still plenty of noise.

Would do this but don’t have stock mufflers so not an option for me

If it isn't too late don't get it. Drones like crazy and the valves are garbage. Get the bomiz one or make your own with the valvetronic universal mufflers and an x-pipe/resonator combo.

I can imagine how this can drone, those muffler are a straight pipe when valve open.

use pneumatic valves, they usually last way longer than electric one.

Mine dont drone, but I have cat and res

I have my car back after having the Gravity Performance exhaust fitted and have driven it on my commute, which is largely 60mph roads. First impressions are not wonderful. The fitment isn't amazing, there is some vibration, and it does drone loudly around 1,800 to 2,200 RPM. In fact, the drone is much louder than the stock exhaust with the valves open. I'll need to consider next steps.

I just picked up a VRSF street off marketplace. Pretty good for what I was wanting. Muffler fitment is pretty shit though

Yeah that was the first exhaust I bought. Shit for brains customer service employees made me just file a PayPal claim instead of bothering with a return. On the bright side I got my refund and got to sell it so not a total loss.

Lol that’s good for you. My only issue was the tips. Sit completely off center in the back even after spending hours trying to adjust it. Also the clamps they sent me for the tips didn’t actually even fit the tip or the muffler. Genuinely no fucking clue how you can even fuck that up so badly? It does the job for now though. I am thinking of going with the AFE full catback down the line, as I want something a little louder and better tone. do you have any thoughts on that?

Id advise against it. No resonators almost always means headache inducing drone on these cars. They only shipped me one exhaust tip and they didn’t fit either so I just left it without tips for the few weeks that manufactured recycling was on my car. Go with an axle back and the stock midpipes. Hopefully you live somewhere outside of commiefornia or where the carb has jurisdiction, but even then going full catless smells horrible in my opinion. I was full catless for about two weeks before I put the stock midpipes back in with my borla exhaust

I’m already fully catless. I’m running the VRSF with the muffler and drone is minimal other than at certain RPM ranges of course but that’s true with any after market so I kind of have to disagree with you advising against AFE. Pretty much any aftermarket exhaust for this platform will have drone

You’re agreeing with the same facts I already stated, just drawing a different conclusion. If drone is negligible to you, go for it. If you don’t like drone, get an axle back.

My experience is that the stock exhaust drones at times with the valve always open. Even with two small resonators the Gravity Performance exhaust on my car drones loudly around 1,800 to 2,200 RPM.

I am going to try to install some sound deadening in the boot and beneath the rear seats to see if this assists at all.

Can’t go axle back with VRSF. Would have to get it welded if I went that route. Wasn’t drawing different conclusions just don’t agree that the drone is head ache inducing and if you’re going after market it’s unavoidable, axle back or not.

Nobody said vrsf axleback ever.

That’s contradictory unless you mean to say that drone itself is unavoidable, which I can testify to not being true.

Brother you just said go axleback after me saying I have a catback VRSF exhaust going from straight piped 😭. Not buying a stock exhaust to then weld an axleback onto it which would cost as much as just buying a full catback.
Nothing is contradictory brother you yourself said no resonator = headache inducing drone. 90% of aftermarket options for this car do not have a resonator anywhere in their systems.

Keeping in mind what you said is keep stock mid pipes which would be pointless on n55 since there’s no resonators.

All I said was I was looking to go a different route with the exhaust with something with more tone than the muffler on the VRSF since it sounds tinny in my opinion and I would like to think AFE would be a good and similar option with better sound engineering and muffler packing which would give me similar results but a better exhaust sound, since I said my VRSF only drones at certain RPM.

If you have any recommendations I’m open to hearing them but I do not have stock exhaust and most likely would not buy one just to weld an axleback onto it since it would probably cost me the same as buying a full catback.
