Metric,... it is sooooooooo much more logical.

Those are things I don't understand about the US,....I just think things would be a lot easier for everybody.

Measurements:
US: English
The world: Metric. (OK,... the UK not.)

Racing:
US: NASCAR
The world: F1

Sports:
US: NBA, NFL, NHL, NBL, etc.
The world: Soccer.

When will time go metric? Why is that still 60 sec to a minute and 60 min to an hour and 24 hours in a day?

It makes stealing our technology just a little bit harder when we are on the English system and the rest of the world is Metric

i read about the english being more flexible because you can divide 12 by a factor of 2, 3, 4, and 6 and you wont get a decimal. i use the english system all the time in architecture. i think it would be so much hassle to convert the whole country.

I've been living in England for almost 17 years and still use ounces, pints, gallons, feet, yards, miles, acres, Fahrenheit, etc. It's not that I can't use the metric system, it's because I don't want to.

FWIW, I also like cake.

You would only pay $1.20 per liter of gasoline Jack. There are 3.78 liters in a U.S. gallon.

The cost of just converting all industries over would be staggering.

It would be so much easier to use the metric system. Say your under the car working on something and you need a bigger size socket and tell your boy to get the next size bigger than a 1/2 inch and they hand you something different because they cant figure out what the next size is. If you gave them a 10mm and asked for a bigger size it would be easier to figure out that 11 comes after 10.

That sounds like a breakdown of the educational system of the American schools. Don't they teach basic mathematics and fractions over there anymore? Why don't you just ask for the 9/16 wrench?
