My brother recently got a Cooler Master board with MX Blues and while I'm used to the switches, I'm not used to the the keyboard so my typing was awful. Hopefully, you'll regain your speed and accuracy after a bit of time with it .

Thanks for the insight! I still use my macbook keyboard most of the time since I'm always out of home. But I'm hoping I'll get used to the mechanical keyboard with some more time.

You'll notice that some of them rise differently, the keys will have different spacing and the muscle memory that you have for typing will ultimately change. I've noticed it on a couple of keyboards and especially when you get past the 75wpm bump then you recognize how fast the keys are able to move as well when you're going through all your motions. I type considerably faster than 75, but I think that's when most people begin to notice that they can press more than four keys at one time or that they'll have to press the same key multiple times faster than a regular keyboard or a different keyboard is able to register it.

Mechanical keyboard use mechanical switches for every key to send a signal to the computer, hence the name.

The typical keyboard you get off the shelf for $20 are made with rubber domes that collapse and bounce back every time you press a key .

Biggest difference between the two is the feel while typing. Mechanical switches are much more tactile and less fatiguing than the mushy rubber dome keyboard.

However, what you think you might enjoy via description may vary due to the overall construction of the keyboard. I've found this out through a couple different brands of keyboards. Although I've enjoyed all of them some have been better than others and for various things.

In what respect? Are you referring to a softer actuation? Nearly two years and it's just as solid as day one. That being said, I don't use it every day. It's hooked up to my iMac, and being an Excel junkie, I primarily use my Windows laptop.

I couldn't imagine coding or doing any data entry with a widow. I was going to say, it was too stiff for me to use in everyday typing and it was louder than sin. It's an awesome keyboard no doubt, I just couldn't use it on a regular basis lol.

Yeah I entirely agree. If it were your primary keyboard, you'd have to get new shirts to house those tree trunk forearms.

Razer black widow, IBM PS/2 Keyboard, OMIKeyboard.

Some guys at work have them and love them. Personally, I like the Apple keyboards, but to each their own. I do like the "click" sound they make.

Have you tried using a keyboard with different switch types? If you get the chance, give the Cherry MX Red or MX Blues a shot. They're not as stiff as the Blue or Black switches.

I have three different das keyboards now with different switches. I really thought that I was going to like the Razer and I was kind of upset with how it turned out.

Of all the ones that I've tried (pretty much only missing some of the more special sets) I prefer reds, even for regular typing. I enjoy blues but they're still a little too tactile for me. I've definitely branched out, I returned my old Blackwidow and was just wondering how it weathered over time. It doesn't sound like it will which is probably it's greatest feature lol.

Recently got a Logitech G810 Keyboard and a G502 mouse to replace my old 7-8 year old stuff. They are both fantastic! Loving them with Overwatch.
