UPDATE

Looks like my Indy BMW shop (who said it was my amp) and the Dealership (Who said it was my CCC) were wrong. I got the "MOST fiber optic optical loop bypass Female adapter" off Amazon and used it take the SAT DLP module out of the connection loop and now things are fine. So the $10 fixed worked this time.

I did have to modify the adapter because although it fits the TCU perfectly, it does not fit the AMP or SAT DLP. So I not so gracefully used some pliers to rip the plastic apart in small chunks

You'll see in my images what the final result looks like. Once I was satisfied, I super glued it and then wrapped it in duct tape (not shown).

Yeah, that’s common... usually water damage. Make sure to inspect for and clean out all the drainage channels or you risk losing your other trunk modules and/or your battery.

One more thing. I was going to buy a CIC Retrofit from a guy on eBay, but he walked me through diagnosing my system instead. I offered to pay him for his time, but he asked if I'd just share his kit instead.

So here's the kit I was going to buy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/264501019873 (No pics, but said he would text them. That's the only sketchy part ha!). He's been very responsive. Usually replies within minutes.

He'll even install it for you if you want to drive to NY.

I am friends with him. He is a good dude. I am not sure if he is making kits anymore as he got bogged down with work.

I bought a kit from mizta insane and it was top notch. He built and shipped within a day, kit was great everything included, pre-coded 2020 maps all worked perfectly. I also have an older kit from another vendor in my E93 with an emulator and he coded that setup remotely to my vin so I could toss the emulator.

He has a few kits left get one while you can as the standard vendors are a lot more money.

Thanks for the setup, very happy!!

Dumb question. When you buy these kits where they ask for your VIN to pre-code, does that essentially mean it is now plug and play and no further coding is required? Also do they update the CIC unit to the latest? I'm looking into CIC retrofit and combox.

They come pre-coded if I recall. When I did mine, the seller in this case did a remote session to my laptop to adjust any further issues and coding needed.

Yep, at least the kit I got, updated to latest firmware C1A, precoded to VIN with all FSC codes generated and installed and latest 2020 maps loaded. Comes with everything you need, just plug it in all works and he remotely connected to fix some coding for me being an early 2006 had to make a few changes for what shows up in for maint items in CIC as some of the older items CIC doesn't display so shows a blank line.

Hey guys,
I have just bought a pre-coded CIC and combox set up. I have installed my CIC and got it working well I believe. I have run the wires for the Combox microphone etc but where do I plug the optic cables in?
I had no TCU/ULF and no bluetooth prep,
I did have CCC business nav and a aux input (no usb) in the arm rest.
any help greatfully received

If I vaguely remember you have to loop the fiber optic cable by purchasing some harness.

I am in the process of retrofitting cic and logic 7 to a non nav car. Do i just take the whole harness from one car to the other? Are the aftermarket navigations any better?
