I'm in the Police and just starting a night shift. The late shift are fully committed on jobs, non of them are particularly exciting, but they need doing. On my team, there are 5 of us covering a very large area and I'm on my own in the car.

Contrary to what some people think, we love chasing car thieves and locking them up. Just recently one of our cars was attacked by a gang with crow bars, straight through the windscreen of the patrol car, all for a stolen Audi and a cash machine (Mercedes world in Brooklands)

I'm in the let them take it camp, as I know some of them go out tooled up, although when the adrenaline is flowing, who knows what would happen.

We aren't perfect, but the UK still has the best Police force in the world. Don't blame the coppers on the street, blame the government, we have been cut down and there is nothing left. I work with some very dedicated people, who think nothing about tackling the scum that want to take your hard earned things.
I do understand the issue now & appreciate your commitment.
Im sad for the world we live in...

Sorry but after having mine nicked in December I would grab the bat and beat them to a fucking pulp if I had the opportunity.

I would need to be dragged off ..........

As Mak said is it really worth the risk of getting harmed for it? I say just let them take it you can quite simply get a new car through your insurance but months or years of physio isn't worth it.

Or what happens if you do hit them with a bat, you catch them right and do them some serious harm. It will be you that is the one that ends up in trouble.

Karma will catch up with them in the end.

However if it was a family member they were attacking it would be completely different.

This is why I love the 2nd amendment here in the us. My guns are never far away and the sound of pump action usually does the trick.

Id leave well alone matey - sad to say.

I love my car... but if someone is desperate enough to break into my house to steal it - they can have it.

Its not worth me becoming a statistic just to protect some 'metal' which at the end of the day is all it really is.

I even leave the car keys on the window sill inside the front door - i don't want anyone walking around the house when i have a 6yr old upstairs. Come in, take keys sod off...

Sad but true.

However, saying this our place is alarmed with CCTV pointing both at the front and back - and its inside the windows rather than outside so can't be disabled.

Just one to make you smile.

Mate of mine.

Built like a brick shit house, bare knucle fighter.

Late at night, Liverpool city centre, in car, with girlfriend.

Three youths approach, started rocking the car.

He warns them off, they start getting lippy and open his door.

He gets out, hits the first youth so hard with an uppercut, teeth, blood, bits of nose everywhere, youth goes down like a sack of shit, out cold.

Other two drag him off, still out cold wimpering for pity......

Yeah, then he pulls out an Uzi!

If guns make you safer, then America should be the safest place to live.....and it's most definitely not!

I love shooting guns but I'm very glad nobody has them here.

It's just too easy to get angry and to do something very stupid.

BTW, Jim Jefferies is a good watch. Adult humor.

Well I'd be facing a great loss if I ever had to claim insurance on my car, considering all the mods and man hours invested. It would be a nightmare.
Shipping parts over from the US. Taxes, shipping etc etc..
