Yes, it is the grey 3m tape. Picked it up from Autozone. There may be thinner version available. Keep in mind the area where the tape is placed is slightly recessed. So, just don't get too thin tape.
Not a bad idea. I would first place painters tape around the edge for easy cleanup. Looks can be deceiving. |

Bro I did this today and let me tell you this DIY takes LOTS and LOTS of PATIENCE, I start it around 3 finish 9PM but I am a perfectionist at everything so it may take less time, I personally will like to thank you because I got this done with your steps and IT LOOKS great!!!!
Difficulty 1-10 = 9 but worth it A+++++ on the DIY |

Wow I just tried this. Within 60 seconds I managed to rip a hole in the vinyl when trying to push an air bubble to the side. Also I noticed the squeegee scratches the vinyl and its very noticeable.
I think I'm going to just pay some place to wrap it or just have it painted. I got a quote for $700 |

^^^ yeah, you need to be careful with not applying to much heat. Also, use plenty of water on top. If you miss taking either precaution, you can tear the vinyl and waste the whole sheet.
Look for a group buy or something. $700 is absolutely ridiculous. Good luck! |

$700 is freaken ridiculous ! there are vinyl shops that'll do it for you for around 70-100 depending if they're real pros or not. My quote was around 60 with the full job and remount of the shark fin and what not. I hope 700 was for painting your roof professionally... not with cans

And $60 is for a roll of 3M gloss black. If you want 3M Di-noc, double it. |
