Unhappy

Thanks. I just didn't follow up after posting.

Now, my car has been docked at preparation centre two weeks ago, but my dealer is not sure when it would be ready to deliver

I guess because the plant my be in shutdown for the holiday, it could be delayed. All in all from time of order mine took 6 weeks ordered in Oct for a 2009 328i Xdrive Coupe until I picked up.

Here are some recent updates about my car:

04.21.10 -- Dealer placed order and said it was already at status 112 (he modified an existing allocation)
04.21.10 -- Status 112 (still) -- Your vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date
04.27.10 -- Status 150 -- Your vehicle is scheduled for production with an estimated completion date of May 3
04.29.10 -- Status 150 (still) -- Your vehicle is in production with an estimated completion date of May 3
05.01.10 -- Status 151 -- Your vehicle is in the body shop and is scheduled to be completed on May 3
05.02.10 -- Status ??? -- Your vehicle is being transported to the port of exit
05.04.10 -- Status ??? -- Your vehicle production is complete and waiting to be released to the carrier
05.05.10 -- Status ??? -- Your vehicle is being transported to the port of exit

I'm confused! I thought "your vehicle production is complete" is supposed to come after "your vehicle is being transported." Any ideas?

Are you planning on completing production after the car is transported to you?

Ha! What I meant to ask was, how did my status go from "being transported to the port" on 5/2 back to "completed" on 5/4, then "being transported to the port" again on 5/5?

No matter I suppose because it's now at the port awaiting a shipping vessel!

Mine has been "At port awaiting a shipping vessel" for a week now. Checked with my CA and he told me there is a huge backlog awaiting shipment at the port due to the restocking of dealer inventory because of the short 2010 run and now 2011's needed by dealers.

Don't give up hope. My car reached status 193 ("Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel...") on May 6 and moved to status 195 ("Your vehicle is in transit...") today. I *think* my car is on the Atwerpen Express which sailed from Bremerhaven this morning and arrived in Rotterdam this evening.

Edit: I'm checking with my CA, but now I think my car might be on the Maersk Wind -- the Antwerpen Express is a regular cargo carrier! Considering the shipping times, East Coast people have it much easier than us West Coast folk.

Looks like mine sailed today, I *think* aboard the Patriot and due to arrive in Charleston, SC on May 29. Just the timing I was counting on. Too bad that I got the report too late to call my CA, now I have to wait until Monday to confirm.

How can you find out what ship your car is on? My car finished production and the recorded message said it was at the port awaiting a shipping vessel. Will only my dealer/SA have that information or is their some other way to access it? Also, if I ordered it from a dealer in NY on Long Island, where will it sail from/too?

Thanks.
