Really? I thought that's where you get most of the power in that range. Why would the turbos die off that soon, and wouldn't the tune bring more power into that higher RPM range as an improvement? Seems kind of an odd engineering design.

It is what allows the N54 stock to produce 300ft lbs of torque at 1400rpm. Short shift around 6k and you'll be fine. The upgraded twins pull to redline and inlets can help some too even on stock turbos.

Linear throttle is definitely the move, just feels like cable throttle. Feels how it should, not fake huge throttle blade openings at next ti no throttle.
My car was jumpy at tip in, pulling away from a light cleanly was aggravating at best. That being said, I didn't like it before my trans tune from Rod Sutphin, but with it, it's perfect. I think it's how he programs the torque converter that makes it considerably better matched than xhp ots. Quote:
No ill affects. Flashes fine every time. Not advice, just my experience.

I lose a half second or more in the 1/4 mile and lots of trap speed if I let it run to 7k every shift. Shift at 5700-6000 and you'll be good. I have my trans tune setup to shift that early so it's not even a thought anymore.

Your right about tune, a tune will typically keep the power/torque going longer into the rpm range, usually at least till 6-6.5k. Upgraded turbos will hold boost up to about 7k. |

I wouldn't say that. I would say the stock turbos are designed to produce 8 pounds of boost instead of the 18+ these tunes call for. They simply cannot keep up with the volume needed for 18+ pounds at 5.5k+ RPM's.

Targeting 18lb+ at 5.5k? Which stage is that? I thought I read stage 2 maps taper off 12-14lb? https://mhdtuning.com/collections/mh...d-n54-map-pack Or are you referring to Custom maps? |

Mine holds 18-20psi at 5500rpm it does off a bit after. Stage 2+ I do have inlets though

They should last quite awhile theyre brand new with less than 5000miles on them. I plan on running a custom tune with E60 with around 24psi
