Ha! I prefer to take the advanced course to life. Makes you learn how to deal with adversity and in turn, not lose sleep over the little stuff.

And believe it or not, the car issues were amongst the lowest on the totem pole this past year. Had my first kid and then went in for a "routine" ankle surgery at the start of this year that almost took me out for GOOD good. That said, life is never dull. And I always welcome a new challenge.

I look forward to seeing results as I will also be tackling this job next week. I got the mmp stage 3, inlets and outlets... I am nervous to even begin after seeing what you have already gone through.. Mauricio had also warned me about the coolant line, so it looks like ill be calling him when it comes time to actually do it.. Being in Hawaii isn't the greatest when you need special parts from the mainland. any other tips or advice you can give?

I feel like maybe it's self explanatory when you're doing the work but why is everybody removing and replacing the manifold studs in the first place? Can you not get the stock manifolds off without removing them?

Good luck, all things considered I think the MMP's will perform well.

What did you use to reinstall the new manifold studs ? And any type of lock tite used?

Some come off with the nut but it's just a good idea in general

Yes a couple of pointers:
  • Don't force the oil or coolant lines into the turbos. Use some oil/grease to help them slide in. Last thing you want is to cut an o-ring and scramble to find a properly size o-ring to replace it.
  • The rear upper coolant line does need to be bent around the larger turbo to fit. To get the turbos in, you need to push the coolant line up and back. Once the rear turbo is in, I used a long beefy screw driver to bend the line back down and forward.
  • Don't overtighten the bolts that hold the oil and coolant line flanges to the turbos. I believe those only require something like 6Nm.
  • Before you install the rear turbo, have the rear inlet already installed and ready to slide onto the turbo as you maneuver the turbo onto the head studs. This will make life 104857933 times easier since it is SO tight between the turbo and the heatshield on the firewall.

Good luck OP. These Turbos look awesome. I'd be really interested in getting them installed on my UK car. I couldn't do any of the labor myself so 10 or 12 hour delays would cost me a pretty penny!
These would be insane on my car with a custom tune, meth kit and DCT. Very close to doing it. Can't wait to see your results!
