App allows to remotely start the car. Not useful to cool it down or warm up?

Using the app for years to send new destinations to the car. Also not useful?

Checking the lock status, locking, unlocking remotely. Never needed it?

Using the app for remote parking, when in tight spots. Is this also funny?

Plus many other features for ICE cars..

Yes, I agree that the App is great. But I think that perhaps you misunderstand the functions of the App...there is no need to stare at it and the App doesn't tell you how to drive. If you don't want or like a particular feature, just turn it off. In your ICE car, there is no need to use the EV comparison function at all. It's no different than any other App.. only use the functions/features that are useful to you. I find it best to try it out before assuming it's no good.

It did not take too long to examine privacy concerns with the new BMW app:

I wish I’d installed it before logging several 400-600 mile days. They would have made its little AI head spin.

I prefer the label "Pro ICEV". Anti-EV is just so... so negative. 🤣🤣🤣

I have never remotely started my cars. I find it rather unnecessary and entitled (despite having $750k worth of BMWs alone). It is something a Karen would do, idling her car while waiting to pick up her Starbucks wearing Lululemon, in her infinitely busy day doing absolutely nothing of value. Plus, isn't remote starting and "warming up" the car a waste of gas, bad for the environment, and defeats the whole purpose of an app that is supposed to help make driving more environmentally friendly?

Never used an app to send info to my car. I find that lazy and unnecessary. It is super easy to type in the destination.

Never needed an app to check if my doors are unlocked or locked. I use my brain and memory for that. In over a million miles of driving, I think I forgot to lock my car less than 5 times.

I have never needed an app to help me park or drive. I use my brain, driving training, experience, and the relentless pursuit of perfection in safety and precision to park. Never curbed my wheels or hit another car while parking. I've lived in major metro areas in various parts of the US and traveled to and driven in 5 continents (haven't driven in Antarctica or Africa...yet).

"Plus many other features for ICE cars". Absolutely none of those features add value to my fleet of BMWs. In fact, I don't even think they work in my BMWs.

As cfm56d7b stated, this app is a privacy nightmare. So many people are completely ignorant about the data they voluntarily share. It is mind-boggling. Your post really highlights the difference in generations and drivers. I'm not a Gen Z and I am a real driver who pays attention to the act of driving. The crop of current drivers suck and Gen Z's would rather be driven, share all their personal info, and have an app change a light bulb.
