Radio MUTE wire E90 w/NAVI-iDrive

I am attempting to wire a Parrot Bluetooth adapter into my 328i. It's easy to do if you have the plain Jane stereo using an available ISO cable adapter but the same is not available for the more complex NAVI equipped audio controller. So I need to splice into the system manually. Among other issues, I cannot locate a MUTE wire in the audio controller harness (or anywhere else). Can someone tell me if there is one available somewhere in the front ?

Another issue is that the Parrot relay control box wants to deal with speaker level audio (already amplified) so I would need to work with the wiring coming off the amplifier in the boot which I want to avoid. The Parrot unit *does* have a pair of line level audio outputs. Is there a simple way to integrate them into the line level wires coming out of the NAVI audio controller ?

Any info/guidance appreciated.

Thanks.

I have logic 7 with Navi, same as you, on my 07 E92. To get the mute working, I had to solder a lead onto pin 10 on the back of the headunit. I then attached a wire, and ran that to the mute wire on my Parrot.

It worked like a charm. When the Parrot is being used, it auto mutes the headunit for the duration of the call.

So for anyone that has Logic 7, you CAN tap into mute! Almost every response on the forum was a negative, so I am glad I did the work.

As far as the wiring, no way for me to avoid, so I bit the bullet and ran the wiring from the amp. It took about an hour, but it works perfectly. You can only use the line level audio to listen to music, but I guess you could also use for calls if you dont mind switching your source to AUX every time a phone rings.

I have installed a Logic 7 Amplifier in a car with standard audio. It all works except I dont know where to connect the power to. Can anyone help me?

I measured the current during sleep and it was 270mA which is way too much. So I presume that it is switched through a relay in the JBE. I want to know which fuse, which relay in JBE.

Anyone with info please.

Thanks

I'm looking for a RAP (Retained Accessory Power) lead to tap into at the rear of a 2010 E92 with base audio. This will be used as a remote turn-on lead for an aftermarket amplifier, as the car wasn't originally equipped with one.

What modules, harnesses or wire colors should I look for to find a RAP lead, not just linked to ignition?

Thank you Technic and MuPhud! I was going nuts this past week trying to figure out the new AMP input colors. Now I can finish my install.
I will use an Infinity Kappa4 to replace the factoryAMP and an Rockford Fosgate to power the SUBS.

Question

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I was wondering which wire the switched power (accessory) source was? Where do i wire the switched power wire on my aftermarket radio?

I've installed multiple car stereos in japanese and domestic cars but this is the first time I'm attempting to install a double din navi unit in my 2008 bmw 335xi coupe.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

i found lots of useful here on E90 Entertainment and Communication systems. it doesn't get down to wiring diagrams, wire color, etc...but answers many of the general questions asked repeatedly.

is it logic7 or not?

I just drove a friends 07 335i coupe with logic 7.
My 07 335i sedan from the US has logic7 on the amp front, what looks to be two harnesses, one fibre optic and the multiwire set-up. Further I have a centre speaker on the dash, sub covers but no sub under the seats.

What system do I have?

Of course my goal is to upgrade to atleast the logic7 system.

Any help would be appreciated.
