I am starting to think that it may be iPod related. Thinking back, I believe everytime it has happened was when I left my iPod Nano plugged into the car overnight or for several hours. Since last Thursday I have not attached my iPod and everything has been fine. |

Don't think it's bluetooth related - I had the problem with bluetooth on so I turned it off and a week later I had the problem again - I think it's either an electronic unit or software - I've had it happen in different temps, with different keys, with bluetooth on and off - basically every situation

Yup - non-iDrive, no Sirius - have HD - but a sampling of others elsewhere with the problem showed that it didn't matter if it was HD or not or iDrive or not, and I can't imagine why a plug-in Sirius unit would make it work vs. not

Picked up the car about two hours ago. Everything ok so far. They did manage to find a fault code in the system from last week's incident. They "encoded" the complete vehicle through PROGMAN. I assume that is reloading the software. Time will tell. Correct on the options, I've got the Premium Pkg, Logic 7 and iPod adapter. No NAV, iDrive or Satellite. |

Duly crossed. My unit has been acting up a bit the last couple of days - it freezes and there are no chimes when the car starts up, but then they kick in kind of reluctantly and all seems well, then out of nowhere when the radio on an AM station tries to switch to HD mode it kicks into a motorboat sound that goes away when I switch stations - it did get me thinking that I wonder if all of these problems are related to HD-only radios - I can't recall anyone with a non-HD unit complaining about the problems

Wow. Would have thought the new unit would have solved things. Since it didn't and you don't have HD, now it really sounds like it is a software or ignition-type issue. Mine has been ok for the last week so no oppty to take it in with an active problem - yet.

Anyone that experiences this problem should report it to your dealer just to get on the record. Would not be surprised to see a TSB in the future. |

I've got the same problem 2009 328i with logic 7, ipod and sirius radio. Doesnt matter weather ipod connected or not or sirius connected. My problem started before I had the sirius installed by dealer. Seems making the seat belt gong go off, unfreezes the problem. It's worked twice for me.
