Oh, I'm well aware, it's the whole reason I bought this thing . It will happen eventually, I need to move my shop this fall before anything really fun happens.

Haha, for this week. Westfalia hitch porn will be next week .

I think a borg efr could be made to fit in place of the factory lp turbo, use the bov port to go back to the hp turbo. Hmmmmmmmm....

Your tubing work is amazing! Congrats with the new car!

For those who don't know me, I suppose I should give a slight further introduction. I own Whitbread Performance Innovations which is a diesel performance and metal fabrication business. Stainless tubing work, engine building, and manual transmission building are my specialties. At this moment, I'm not particularly interested in making 335D parts as I don't wish to step on anyone elses toes and I just plain don't have time at this moment. If anyone in the metro detroit area needs help with something though, I'm more than willing to offer my facility and tools to help.

Here's a few pictures of other projects I've done

This was my baby. 97 B4V passat swapped to an 02 based 2.0L TDI with haldex awd out of an audi TT. Compound turbos at 60psi boost, right around 290whp/430wtq. Got T boned last summer by a lady who blew a red light. Undergoing a shell swap now.

Oh Shit!
Whitebread is here...Look out!
I thought about building a 200+ hp tdi but after driving a 335d there was no point! I could spend 10k and never get as fast as the D... Besides the wife loves the D....
The european Bmw Diesels have a triple turbo set up.. Fancy a swap? A 600hp D would be pretty nuts!

Sounds like you got a keeper there glitdi ...Does she have a twin sister?

The euro triple turbo setup is an exercise in german over complication haha. Swapping the LP turbo out for a larger unit should do the trick for 500+hp if fueling can keep up.

I will let you guys know towards the end of next week what a set of hybrid turbos will put down. Comp finally shipped my turbos out today overnight from CA to NC. I have an AEM meth kit being installed at the same time as well. I will post dyno pulls of the BPC Stage 2 tune w/ hybrid turbos, hybrid turbos w/ BPC Stage 3 tune and hybrid turbos w/ BPC Stage 3 tune + Meth.

Please pray for my tranny!!!

Over the weekend I went from metro detroit down to Charlotte NC to pick the beauty up. Bought new by doctor, dealer serviced since day 1, 100% stock, no kids or pets ever in car, m sport package, adaptive headlights, brand new set of michlelin pilot sport cup tires, deep metallic blue with oyster intedior, but no Idrive thank goodness! It has 94kmi on it. I drove from Charlotte to Toledo, Ohio with a little less than 1/4 tank left and filled up for 38.5 mpg. I already have a westfalia hitch hitch on the way from my friend in the netherlands. That's going to be the only mod for now until things start failing. Once the emission systems start giving me fits, parts will start falling off and a pair of turbos and and IC will find their way on.

nice car

Slightly ahead of plans, I got my windows tinted on monday. Their only openings were monday or in mid september. Did 35% on the front and 25% on the back window. Came out fantastically! How the PO lived in Charlotte NC with ZERO tint is beyond me. This thing was a solar oven without it.

Looks like I have a project for this weekend

I'd be interested in your progress on that project! You look like you're set up pretty well there but let me know if I can help you out with any parts....

It's a little ways down the road but will happen eventually. I could make a kit of sorts if it works and there's enough interest. A hybrid HP turbo with a 7670 should be enough air for a clean 500whp without meth or nos if we can fuel it. It can do 53psi as a single up to 53lb/min and 36psi at 64lb/min and still be on the map.

Matt,

I too am glad to see you here. I'm CERTAINLY interested in the turbo setup you propose. My poor TDI... just sitting. I was going to do compounds on it, but now the d gets all of my attention.

I was rather disappointed in the seats until a few hours into the drive home I finally found the bolster switch. Felt sooper smart then!

15 and heavy change. I was quite happy with the deal .
I love these seats too as they keep you where you are supposed to be during spirited driving. Only issue I have is that they are tight on my rib cage even though I am only 5'10" and 185#. If is was any bigger, the seats would be uncomfortable. Maybe they are not opening all the way (width wise). Anyone else have that squeezed feeling with the sport seats?

Popped off the rear bumper and got hitch bolted on. Now wiring from trunk forward needs to be done tomorrow morning.

335d specific exhaust brackets

Custom dent to clear plug bracket. Done with a heat gun and gentle persuasion with a hammer handle to apply force.

Much larger custom dent to clear receiver mount.

And viola.

The wiring was a bit of pain in the arse having to pull the rear seat and run wires all the way up to the fuse block. But, it's all done and the result is worth it! Time for a car wash!

For anyone needing the 7 pin euro to american 4 pin adapter, it can be found here.

Totally hidden with plug swung up and receiver dropped out.
