i think the opposite. i think its great marketing. the pic of the rabbit with the giant front legs draws you into the ad. you want to find out what the pics about so you have to read the small print and the BMW logo. nicely done. and you have to remember who the target group for the ad is also. prob age 25-55 male and a car enthusiast, so more often than not theyll "get" the ad. i say male also because they chose to use a darker colored rabbit instead of a fluffly white one. the white one would be "too cute" and would target the wrong group (women and children) then the ad wouldnt make sense at all. nice and fun

Its a great ad...rabbits are known for speed and agility and they have long rear legs to facilitate that, so a rabbit with long front legs is unnatural as are FWD cars...supposedly.

I know, same here haha

and in addition to VW rabbit that people are suggesting, maybe they're making fun of the "fast" commercials from VW? y'know the one with the angry looking bunny?

It also shows that "Its natural to have RWD"

If you look at all the animals in nature, they pretty much all get the power from hind lengs.

Its more natural to be pushed than pulled.

Yes, it references natural selection. Nature figured out that rear leg power was better and provides an advatange to survival...so too, should it be with vehicles.

nice ad

Great ad. It works on several different levels. All the VW and Honda/Acura owners (minus S2k owners) are scratching their heads in confusion.

The fact that so many people on this forum didn't get the ad confirms a couple of my lurking suspicions about the online BMW community in general.

Oh well.

Yesterday I saw a BMW truck with the ad: Overtake gentil, The BMW 1er is waiting for you at the BMW dealer...( in German).

thoroughly ingenious ad.my interpretation of this would be that the rabbit being a quadriped, running on 4 limbs would be very unbalanced with a heavy front for propulsion as the hind legs are crucial for its locomotion . Bmw's 50/50 weight distribution ensures a better drive by having rear wheel drive.
