Yea..... ideally I'll have something else to drive this winter and this car will stay on a charger and under a cover through the winter. Since that is financially crazy on my part, I'll probably just raise it up to its max ride height and call it a day. For driving to/from school/work though I'll be picking up a bicycle (pimpin right?) soon to reduce some body weight from....my car, so I might use that for the winter on snowy days. Also, I do have that M5 bumper I need to paint and mount, it's an inch or so lower in the front apparently so that should function well as a snow plow

It's actually really not bad. The good thing about a "snow city" is that they plow the snow like...immediately. I just have to get better about plowing my driveway. I used to use my X5 to pack down the snow by just repeatedly squealing the tires forward and back.

As for snow, I plan to adjust the V3's when I do my winter tire change-over, i.e., raise in winter and drop for summer.

Haha! HOLY SHIT THIS DAY IS FANTASTIC! I just got a voicemail from my dealership telling me that my new O/C is in stock and approved through BMWNA. Now I just have to get an ETA from Eksten so I can schedule an appointment for the O/C and hope to god they can finish it in a day.

so now you will *most likely* go into limp mode instead of *almost certainly* go into limp mode ?

PS (that's how i justify not getting a 335 after someone does a big power blow by down the front straight)

PPS share some more pics of the kosei wheels please? esp some further out side shots and front and rear shots showing how the wider tires look

Hah. The story is now I can "get through" the next week of beating the shit out of my car and then as soon as my bank account stops bleeding I can get the proper oil cooler from VK. The problem previously was that we needed the oil cooler bracket that comes with the OEM oil cooler but is not available separately and is expensive as hell to produce.

The limp modes really weren't "that bad." We just had to hop off track for a sec and restart the car. Now I'll hopefully not have to do that at all...granted I'll be pushing it even harder this week but we'll see! And hey, I think at this point I'm confident to say I'd go head to head with an NA E9x in my class for a day The limp modes were manageable by some serious TLC and now the car even gets a cool blanky to keep it cold

I attached a pic from back in May at my first HPDE on my old RE01Rs. I'll post up a ton more pics after this week....maybe even tomorrow if I get a chance to wax it early enough.

OEM free or a VK? I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes. Did the dealer cut a hole in the plastic, set up the vented "window" then not give you black fasteners?

Either way... I know you're stoked. I'd hate my car if it limped on me. Actually, I wouldn't.

haha! Like I said that was my first HPDE and I detailed the car before I went so that's like...the first pic I took at my first HPDE. Have you not seen the My Suspension Setup thread? http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164989 Now that's what I call brake dust EDIT: Hrm, or at least it looks like it in person? I get tons, don't worry

OEM free. I needed to get the OEM cooler to be able to upgrade to VK.

Hey thanks for the pic! Just noticed that thread had pics too.

Fingers crossed the aftermarket oil cooler gets the job done for you! I just realized that your mods total is probably starting to get close to the purchase price of my old '02 WRX (purchased used on the cheap)

I actually just had five 20 min sessions in 83F temps with 40 mins cool down between, and my oil temps never went above 250F. I have an automatic with oil cooler retrofit by BMW. I was actually very surprised. I expected to be pulling off mid sessions.
