Who was this stuff written for? It looks like it's basic study material for apprentice BMW mechanics. Does that mean they've covered the whole car in the same way i.e. transmission, suspension, electronics, idrive, interior trim etc?
Excellent find BTW

I was taking a closer look at the turbos...they are designed so well from the factory it doesnt look like they have any excess material to port away...
I just wonder how a company is going to fit some kind of intake system in for the 335 lol. |

Dinan might come out with something but they might just modify the airbox. They did this for the E46 and E90 325/330 models. |

There are other sections in the E90, E92, and E93 Complete Vehicle manual. There is not much info. on interior trim though unless it has some sort of special feature like front seats with adjustable side bolsters. |

The N54 has a High Precision Injection (direct fuel injection) system. The N52 and N52KP does not have direction fuel injection. The N54 has the same dimensions as the N52 block but the bolt pattern is different for the transmission. N54 uses a steel forged crank. N52 uses a cast iron version. Valve covers are different due to the crankcase ventilation design. N54 does not have valvetronic but the other next generation engines for 2007 retain them from the N52. I found that part quite humorus considering Vishnu and AA already have products out that raise boost pressure... Cmon BMW, do you really think that you can give us a bi-turbo engine and expect us to keep it stock

remmib,
My god your car is beautiful! Le Mans Blue has to be my alltime favorite color from BMW (I'm on my knees now praying for LMB being offered on the 135i). My guess is you did it through BMW Personal?

I am trolling around on this site because I have a supercharged G35 coupe and have done just about everything I could to it, and just about have it payed off
naturally my eye was wandering, plus I am getting older and wanted something a little more mature and this car is at the top of my list one of the things that does impress me over what everyone else stated is that this engine used an electric coolant pump and from what I have read a pretty beefy one I think that would add little extra HP that was being robbed by most other cars that use a belt driven one and of course the DI just inspires the imagination as to efficiency, (and Twin Turbo's) I test drove one two weekends ago and that just made me even more convinced that next year I will be selling the coupe and getting one of these |

from what i have read jus breifly, the 335i is not bi-turbo its twin turbo ie both turbochargers are of indentical size!!
so for a turbo upgrade you would have to change both and will suffer a compromise for having more top end power but lag which with the smaller ones you dont? is this the same for the diesel? i feel not? surely that is bi-turbo? one small and a larger one? Carl

Pretty much unless someone can build a new turbo manifold that can take a single turbo setup. Before doing that they have to figure out how they're going to get better high flow direct injectors for more power. Not cheap.

thanks again for your reply!!
i knew the 335d had two turbos, i wasnt sure if it was bi or twin, bi-turbo by the sounds of it!!! so the 335i has two identical turbos jon?? ie therefore twin turbo not bi-turbo

geez, LOL, twin- and bi- mean the same - two turbos, regardless of their setup. Same synonyms like TDI, TD, TiD etc. - all mean turbo diesels.
If U wanna show the difference, say e.g. parralel vs. serial turbos, there's the difference. Parralel - 2 identical concurrent turbos (335i), serial - 1 small and 1 big turbo (335d), taking over each other in various engine operating modes and rpm's. |
