Do the two of you have different styles of tips or something? That's curious.

What made the tips you got look like garbage?

My tips look exactly like the ones in that picture, maybe they had a different style on earlier sets or something..

I'll post some pictures up when I pick the car back up tomorrow.

Yep, and if you look at my vids then you'll see that mine are the same also.
I like the tips. They are 3.5" angled and rolled tips.

I love the 3.5". 4" is too big IMO.

Weird, either I got an older unit or I got a shady unit. My tips were really thick rolled straight cut and they didn't even have a Borla logo on them. They were hideous. Either way, the rest of the system is great and the tips were an easy fix. 3.5" is perfect for stock bumper, 4" doesn't look out of place in an M-Tech diffuser. The tips look perfect on your car and that sound is wicked!

Just picked my car up, love the sound (Did the cat delete and single muffler), little bit of drone while cruising on the highway while in standard "D", but if I shift to "DS" it's pretty much gone. Sounds great through the entire RPM range including sitting at idle.

Only downside is that the shop has the tips slightly askew, and I picked up the car so late they couldn't get it back in tonight, so taking it back in a few days and they are going to adjust it for me. I reverified and they are the exact same tips as pictured above, think they are the perfect size for the stock diffuser.

Cool, I'm glad you like it!
Ya see, I really think that the whole "drone" thing is for auto trans.
My system never drones but I have a manual.

Seriosly man, wait until it breaks in!

Have the 2 muffler version and really like it. Similar sort of feedback (I have 6AT). Some drone in "D", but in DS it disappears.

Not sure if the the 2 muffler version causes a little more drone as it's supposed to be a little more aggressive. But the sounds up and down the range are great especially with Dinan Stage II. Love the throttle blips and the low burbling in DS in slow traffic. Have had multiple compliments on the sound in traffic.

I have the 4" Dimisa tips, BTW. Will try to get some pics and sound clips at idle and revving. May take a few days with my schedule.

BTW Harold@HP was awesome to work with.

Borla did not inform us on the tip change on the older systems, but we know the dual muffler system have the full rolled tips with the Borla logo and the old single muffler system didn't.

I have the older single muffler system. It was installed @ Borla in Oxnard...

It is possible the early production runs came with the older style tips and were later replaced by the newer style(full rolled tips) because of customer feedback.

Are we after performance gains or cosmetics here?

Yeah I just had some Dimisa tips welded up. The new Borla tips look really nice though and cosmetics shouldn't be an issue any longer.

This is what I did with the Ultimate Racing cat back.
They had the 4" tips, and I really wanted the 3.5" tips.

You guys, I can't explain enough with how much I love this setup.
The growl is truly unbelievable and I just love it when I drive in between 2 block walls with all 4 windoes rolled down.

That's what I want for my single muffler system. I'm hoping the 2ndary cat delete from HP Autowerks coming this week gives me something close to that with extra power as an added bonus.

Glad I went with this setup and not the dual muffler option, sounds so good.

If any of you is looking to build your own custom exhaust system, please let us know. We can supply you the Borla 2nd cat deletes, x-pipe, left and right legs, and the muffler(s). Everything as a kit or in pieces, so you can tailor your own sound and muffler/tip design.

It was a pretty good idea, but lately I've been going for a different sound.

Thanks to Harold from HP Autowerks and Borla, I finally received the sound that I was looking for.
I was thinking of the way that the Borla muffler is constructed and it made so much sense to me how they really might be able acheive a "back and forth" sound; kind of like the sounds of the V8s where the scavange back and forth.
Borla uses a single muffler in the rear instead of 2 different mufflers.
The single muffler is pretty much a resonated X pipe where the exhaust gases combine just before the exiting point.

The exhaust is very deep, yet does not drone one bit in my manual. Some have said that the exhaust is too quiet. I dont' understand what they want, but maybe my catless DPs are helping.

In the videos, you can here the back and forth gurgle, especially when I let my foot off the gas and leave it in gear. The sound is just beautiful!
I am extremely happy!

So, my exhaust is in the following configuration:

Ultimate Racing Catless Downpipes
High Flow Cats in the place of the OEM secondaries
Borla Exhaust

Let me know what you guys think.

Such a great review. Let's bump it!
