I just got eaten by the BMS crowd. I think I'll switch to a BMS DCI instead... Give me a good price Mike. Last edited by Big Tom; 09-15-2011 at 01:36 AM.. |

The best intake option is one that breathes cold air which would only be found in the area where the stett CAI breathes. Any other intake in the engine bay will be breathing in hot air. The DCI style intakes have their benefits on high boost though because the factory box is quite the restriction so it helps the turbos breath better and lower wastegate duty cycle. The cai is that much better as its colder air, more dense, more oxygen, and more power. I wouldnt say the upgrade from a DCI to a CAI would be a seat in the pants burst of power but everything helps when put together. |

Dci for sure!!
I would get the bms because its a great price, however my friend did tell me tge piping is not the right size, it is in fact a bit small but with it will still fit just dont over tighten and crush the piping. Injen is over priced, dci is not for show its for pure performance. |

Actually, 335i101, a larger inlet is pertinent... check out the fluid dynamics behind velocity stacks. At the same time though, its seems negligible between bms and vishnu.
I have the injen intake personally. If you plan to use meth on your car, Injen may not be the best choice since you have to move the power steering reservoir to the spot that the Vishnu pwm pump takes up... However, that doesnt mean you cant re route the pump to make it function, just more work. I would look into the various diy's on Mr.5's intake. I think its Zasquatch who made one with a bellmouth. I might take out my injen in order to make something similiar to Mr.5 |

You dont need to mount the pump in the engine bay. You can mount it wherever you like. They just did it under the hood for ease of install.

Jeff is spot on; I bought my Stett CAI from him and couldn't be happier. I've driven through some heavy downpours with no issues.
Former_Boosted_IS did a comparison on DCI vs Stett CAI and the Stett performed better. Granted, the Stett is much more expensive so ultimately you have to decide if it is worth the additional cost. |

True, however... if that's the case, why not save $50 and make one from scratch? They have everything at an AutoZone to make an intake that looks and probably will perform the same . I didn't question the quality or the intake at all, just the looks. The OP asking for people opinion between the two, so I gave my unbiased opinion and why I chose my answer.
