Okay, I went through the pics 5 times... and... well, the oem makes it 'smoother' as you said, but not necessarily 'better'
the m3 ones are more aggressive So, the question is: do you want a smoother look or a more aggressive look?

Maybe they discontinued the side skirts then ....... the only real difference with the OEM & the M aero is the width. The rear M aero bumper sits a little bit lower than the OEM and the skits match up to that.
Maybe the M-Tech took the place of the M aero? Quote:

OEM, if it was a coupe I would say M3. Its just with the convertibles they look very square with the roof, lots of lines, and the M3 Skirts create more lines to give it a sporty feel, but with a convertible I think this is too much.
