I found out after I got my car that it was only fitted to 6 cyl cars.

After driving a X5 and E93 325i I was glad I didnt have it fitted as it slows you down when going downhill - when you start the ascent on any upcoming hill the car then revs hard to climb as it didn't gain any additional momentum as you went down the hill.

Prefer the normal cruise - i've stopped flashing anyone these days

HMI kinda suggested to flick the cruise off whengoing downhill, and reapply it as speed increases when climbing the next hill. I'm not sure how easy this is with the E90 though..

I think it prob depends on the gradient of the hills etc and what other traffic there is around, although if you have clear open roads why would you want to be sitting with cruise on anyway , I have had a few cars with cruise (inc an E46 with old style cruise) and by far this system is the best I have used.

the Mercedes speedtronic system is way better than any cruise. Just set it to the max speed you want, rest your foot on the gas pedal and slow down / speed up as much as you like. The trouble with cruise is that every time you hit the brakes it needs to be rest and you really can't flow well with traffic. Least that's my 2CW.

Hmm kinda defeats the object of setting up the cruise if you have to watch for hills to climb and descend. - Only the E90 6 cyl have the brake assist.

Mine has the cheapo cruise
