Any Ideas? Yes - very likely your ABS unit has failed. Especially if you say your cruise control has also failed.
There are numerous threads on this but first of all get the codes read so that you don't waste time and money. if it proves to be the DSC/ABS/Hydro unit then see this thread (among hundreds of others) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=813999

Get the codes read first before freaking out suspecting the worst. It could be the pump but the relevant codes will tell you this
Mine had the same symptoms, same error lights... was rust between the rear wheel sensor and the wheel bearing. Quick rust remover spray and a good scraping through the access hole and it was sorted |

Believe it or not start checking your battery first. These cars tend to send weird signals to dashboard when battery is weak. Do a load test on the battery just in case.

mine did this last night and I got it scanned today and it points to a fault rear ABS sensor. I was dreading it was going to be the ABS module!

I don't have the fault code to hand but it was on the lines of intermittent fault on rear left sensor, the guy drove the car and said that that wheel was reading half the speed of all the other wheels.
I just changed the sensor and it has fixed the problem. |

Did anybody end up getting to the bottom of this? i changed my rear right abs sensor FOUR TIMES and its still throwing a code for that specific sensor... Start off assitance inactive dynamic stability/breaking or something is inactive and breaking systems malfunctioned lights on my idrive. those three lights are also on my dash... need help. Before i end up having to change the hub bearing.

Pull the driveshaft out and inspect the reluctor.
Theres two parts to the "sensor" theres the pickup itself, the part you've replaced 4 times, and theres a toothed wheel on the driveshaft. If the toothed wheel is damaged, you'll get all manner of weirdness. |

abs ring ?
put a washer on the abs sensor to pack it out, to see if temp fixes it.
