Wow, thanks for posting Alpine. I knew it was relatively easy...I didn't realize it was that easy! Now the question is how to hide this purchase from the wife lol

I've learned to just accept that hiding car parts will never happen.

I just come up with a good excuse why I needed something. Usually works out in my favor if I include reliability and fuel consumption in the argument.

Did you ever get in touch with someone that can do the Alpina flash?

Joe hasn't gotten back to me yet, so I'm guessing he forgot. I'll shoot him a note. If unsuccessful, I'll go 50/50 on a cable with you if you're interested and we can get Wedge to remote in to help us do the flash. I'm interested in learning more about coding anyway.

I'm out I'm Alberta, Canada which is bit higher up from sea level and my car is cobbed with 91 octane. It's drives fine.

Cobb Tuning recommends 93 octane minimum for OTS Aggressive tune maps.

Calgary is ~2000ft lower than Denver, BTW

91 octane is fine on drive and sport maps, just don't run aggressive map on it unless you log and know how the car is running on it. Some might be able to get away with it, especially on colder days.

Time to necropost! I was looking for a relevant thread so I didn't have to make a new one with the same information repeated.

I just moved back to CO with a Cobb AP and am running the Stage2+ FMIC since I'm FBO. This map runs fine, though I am very curious to see if I could tweak the map somehow by increasing the ethanol content. It looks like I would need something like 6.5 gallons of E85 to raise the AKI in the tank to ~93, but I'm not sure.

I'm assuming I would want to start with an off the shelf map and use ATR to adjust from there. Would I go the E30 map route and tweak the fuel scalars there, or go Stage2+FMIC Aggressive and tweak the fuel scalars there?

If this is the way to go, I know that with the E30 map I would need a *lot* more ethanol to reach the 93/ethanol mix it's designed for. Not even sure if the fuel pumps would be able to keep up. The loss of pressure and turbo efficiency at altitude might lower the fuel flow enough for the stock pumps to handle, maybe?

6.5 gal of e85 will put you around e37-e40 and around ~95-97oct depending on e85 true ethanol content.
fwiw, Im running E35 in the winter and e40 in the summer with no fueling issues in Denver. Some cars can handle e40, some cant. Log and find out.
