Removed the intake pipe to complete the repair. Here is what the situation looks like. Perhaps some of this spilled out of the pipe during removal. The gasket seems fine.

That liquid is from the CCV condensing/pooling in that area. There will be similar oily condensation lining your intercooler and the rest of your intake.

When I was configured with the OEM CCV system I would also find oily stuff in that exact same area. If you move to implement some kind of "catch can" or CC filter to reduce this type of residue from getting into your intake, checking for oily condensation in this area is a comparative way to see if it is helping. I tried a couple versions of catch cans that failed this test.

Oil seems really grey to me. Mine was really black. Can you confirm its grey? Grey usually means something like water or moisture.

Damn lifetime warranty on the replacement part cant go wrong there. For that price buy 2!

I think that was just the light. In person it was black.

I ended up going the route of the OEM via AArodriguez. Have the three feet of hose as well but sending back.
