Did you get anywhere with it? Mine does the same it'll light up but doesn't heat. If I disconnect the pwm the light goes off....

Hope someone can help

E90 LCI without iDrive -

Original seats -Manual, Cloth, NON-heated, with electric bolster (side button) - can't remember if the electric bolster worked

NEW seats - Manual - Leather, HEATED, with electric bolster (not currently working)

Ive read the steps and they seem very helpful but there is not much clarity in regards to the seat options

If someone can please tell me the step by step coding including the steps for the IHK module

Is this correct?

Ok so open up NCS Expert

F1
F3 choose CAS
F2 and add $494
F6 back
F4 process ecu and choose CAS
F2 change job and choose Fa_write
F3 execute job
F1 change ecu and choose NFRM
F3 execute job

Close out of ncs expert and open if back up again

F1
F3 choose CAS
F6 back
F1 change ecu to JBBF
F3 execute job

what about the steps for the IHK module?

many thanks in advance!

Hey guys, just finishing up a heated seat retrofit that was partially finished by previous owner. I ran the proper wires and came down to coding which I'm new to. I have Bimmergeeks Protool so I'm just sharing the steps involved for Protool for anyone in the future.

1. Open Protool.
2. Select "Multi ECU"
3. Select "Vehicle Order"
4. Select "Edit"
5. Select "Base"
6. Scroll down and select option 494.
7. Select "Actions" then "Save"
8. It will prompt you to select CAS, FRM. Select "Both"
9. It will then save, then prompt you to save this change to 2 other modules. Once you approve to save changes to these other two, you're done!

My driver's seat always worked, but passenger did not, as the vehicle wasn't originally equipped. Hope this helps someone in the future!

Nope, saving options to options list to modules which simply store this option list (FRM,CAS) have nothing to do with activation of the options.
When you put used seats and ihka module they may be already coded for heating.
But otherwise you need to code JBBF, IHKA, KOMBI and sometimes seat modules to enable heating.

I’m about to use Protool to get some m2 seats working in my LCI e92. These steps are super helpful! Any other tips/tricks? Did you have to deal with the passenger occupancy warning?
