I give this guy props for coming out with this new way of getting a better boost. Forget about the haters Terry, lets see some nice results soon. Mike.

Yep.... I posted this tuning "method" as a joke several weeks ago. Leave it to Terry to actually name it a "Terry Tuner" and take credit for it. But I can't honestly think of a more fitting name

I give you props Terry for taking the time to post this up. Although I don't believe in just upping the boost and depending on the stock ecu to take over the rest, I don't see why some people are flaming you when this seems exactly like what the turbo tuner is doing.

Well there is alot more to tuning than just controling boost, if that were the case then every person out there could say they were a tuner. Now I give props to Terry for trying this in the first place, but I sure wouldn't try to get any real power out of it. There is a reason why AFR and timing is adjusted throughout the rev range... and its not just for power, but safety as well.

Now if Terry comes out with a Terry Tuner 2.0 with Smart and Conditional logic that just involves 2 cables... I think Shiv will blow a gasket haha. I hope that truely never happens as I think Terry will be looking for a new engine if that happens. Good try Terry... but when you called it "Terry Tuner" you just set yourself up.

Why is there so much hate? Isnt this thing the exact same setup as the Turbo Tuner? I see a bunch of people who know very little about cars posting all sorts of doom and gloom scenarios...

Terry I applaud your efforts...at $2 in parts, not a bad mod if we are keeping A/F still in check (dyno will determine this)

+1

Seriously, I am with you. This can't be all that different than what the Turbo tuner does. People are so quick to hate on anything. Good luck Terry. I hope the dyno shows a good gain and the motor is operating within safe parameters. If so it sure will make $600 for the turbo tuner look kind of silly.

+2. Good job. At least you had the courage to do it.

Thanks for the support gang. Attached is a pic of the solenoid bypass. I'd suggest turbo tuner guys do this, and you procede/xede guys might want to ditch that junky looking bypass connection and do it this way.

Call me a tooner if you like but I posted the thought a few months ago:

PS. I'm taking orders for the Terry Tuner.

The price is $2, but when v2.0 comes out I expect the price to go up a little. To order just pay me $.50 now, and I'll charge the balance to your credit card before the unit ships. We're waiting on the harness which should be any day now, but rest assured we're all working awfully hard at the shop (counting your money).

You posted the notion that adjusting the MAP/boost sensor signal could change boost pressures. Something that was well known months earlier.

I showed you how to do it with $2 worth of parts, how to wire them in, and even provided the resistor values to save you the time. But whatever... if you want to take the credit for a low dollar boost controller, be my guest.

Unlike you I don't claim this is rocket science. Any tuner worth the title could implement an Xede, Interceptor, or connect $2 in resistors (technically it was closer to $.45, I'm also counting the wire and shrink tubing).

You'll also note your thought is missing the 220ohm R1 resistor.

PS. Nice of you to tell the turbo tuner guys about the solenoid bypass, you knew all along it would benefit them. I guess whatever it takes to make a buck.

Well. The resistor equation is simple, V=IR OMG. But the ideal...... its like treating the 335 like a honda, you cant just hit the boost control because it gains power, mapping is always the way to go.

wouldnt simply increasing the boost (manual boost controller $20 or like what terry did $2) and putting in a rising rate regulator increase hp as procede/xede/turbo does?

might get error codes and no timing retard tho

I was about to write that people are trashing terry for no reason, he's just trying to figure out a DIY.

However, there is no reason to insult Shiv. I don't know Shiv from a hole in teh wall, I don't have a PROCede, a turbo tuner, or anything else (yet), but I don't blame anyone for trying to make a dollar for a good product.

He's not the computer tech that comes over your house and defrags your hard drive for $125/hr.
