Good point

So...does anyone else want to give me suggestions or feedback? The shop I'm dynoing at is Proven Power in Tampa (http://www.provenpowertampa.com/Home_Page.php) if anyone wants to be a part of the action.

And Thanks for SDemetris for keeping everyone in line - I know myself and a few others would like to get the best bank for our bucks.

This is why it's pointless to take on this project. Same car, same day, same dyno, same temps. No changes to the car made yet the dyno speaks for itself.

^ And so what? So because someone didn't let a vehicle reach opporating temp until it's on a dyno - all dynos are inaccurate? Maybe you missed my other thread where I stated this isnt my first rodeo

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=925546

I'm well aware how a dyno works, I've had my own personal cars on them many times. So what does you dyno prove?

Vehicle was properly dyno'd. Re-read the thread and what people are telling you. You wouldn't need to ask what this dyno proves if you knew what you were talking about.

Oh, now you're going to piss me off. Post the thread where that dyno came from. If there were no changes on the dyno - then problem lies with the car adapting to changes while it's being dynoed. I just linked you to my own dyno thread with my pervious car where I had been multiple dyno pulls.

What have you proved? Nothing.
Where is your dyno experience? You have none.
What do you know that I don't? Jack shit.

I think everyone is in agreement that a CAI doesn't do much. I would suspect that the degree of experimental error (dyno run) might exceed the difference between various solutions. So the expense of multi runs might not be justified by the results; but it's not my nickel.

Woah. This got pretty charged pretty fast. Ill take some responsibility. I was unaware dyno runs could vary ~20hp between runs and some of my words were pretty charged. I was just trying to tell people to let the man do his thing. discouraging people is generally not a good thing to do. sorry for getting everyone excited

Honestly, it's absolutely infuriating to read what half of these people post on here. You don't want actual proof of what works and what doesn't? Why would you want to waste your money - why WOULDN'T you want to know. Who celebrates ignorance?

I kept linking the peanut gallery to my prior dynos - I know all about BMW's "Superawesome" airboxes and intakes that don't work - I still managed find some hidden power over a hacked oem box with a relatively inexpensive intake. Why is this considered a bad thing?

Hey man, go for it! It's your money and time.

I am curious, but I don't think the results will be surprising.

Edit: Just a side note, I think it has been mentioned, but i think you should do the test with the hood closed for the open filter intakes.

Why would I dyno with the hood closed?

Heat soak with open air filter elements has been shown to create a loss of power, but you knew that already.

I do, so let mw ask you - Besides a dyno, when will you be at 100% load and have no airflow?
