The picture is not an artificial lawn but Dichondra. Just do a Google search and you will see.

Actually i will try and post some pics by Sunday. It looks and behaves much much better in the shade than in the place that gets full sunshine.

What you need OP, is some kiln dried sand on that, to assist drainage.

I would have thought if you just lay new turf on top. It wouldn't knit into the existing soil and at the very least you will need to scalp the old lawn and score the soil before laying new turf down.

I used the artificial grass to beautify my landscape and I've never regretted it.
