Thanks for the post YvesD

Ive been getting a very jerky change from 2nd to 3rd both in D and DS. will give this a try along with the adaptation reset and see if it makes a difference.

Much cheaper to purchase a BT Tool and do it all yourself.

Any links to how to do this??

Not familiar with that system, anyone else have it?

You will be looking for the gearbox module and somthing akin to the following commands

1. Re-set adaptions
2. Teach in components

Let us know how you get on

A current issue i am experiencing with my 335d MY06

The car drives much better since the remap, but still a bit hesitant from start off and can feels the thump occasionally from the gear changes up or down.

I have booked the car in for a gearbox software upgrade on my car which after reading up can possibly cure the problem,

I will send car in to dealer in January 2012 and will report back once the upgrade has been carried out.

In the meantime please share your experiences or thoughts

Evening sir, you need a gearbox specialist to solve this as there is a electronic valve system or other part that sounds fautly.
I’ve used this company on my previous 535d where they replaced my torque converter due to hunting revs at around 130k miles.

On my current car they also changed my gearbox fluid and filter (metal replacement) at 70k miles, perhaps a call to them might shed some light?

Evening! I wouldn’t send your gearbox away surely diagnosis is a bit better when on the car? I’d give them and a few auto gearbox companies a call first.
I don’t think it’s your issue here but the torque converter for a new one was £1500 including fitting and the oil and pan change was under £500
