help the newb

Guys,

Just got a new 3 series, and was wondering if the option in this thread will allow me to play videos in the back headrest while some other A/V option plays in the front (IE Sat, Nav, etc).

I don't plan on having the rear monitors hooked up via the car speakers, but will do so if needed.

I have a question about warranty. Idrive is already one of the things I am worried about in the long term; does this void the whole warranty? Or only the display?

Well technically yes.

If you use video source 1 to feed video to your up front nav screen, your rear headrests will be fed the same signal if you wire it that way.
If you want to use a different video source, you'll need more than one DVD player or source.

I've taken my car in for service with this unit with no issues and so have several other users.
Unless you screw something up royally, it won't void either.
I still have my unit for sale along with my DVD player

So you can get this and watch movies on the Idrive screen, but you need an external dvd rom instead of using the dvd player in the car? That sucks.
