Not the proper forum for it, I know, but while I have your attention and were kind of on the subject...any of you familiar with someone in the Midwest that will help with tuning/coding out the EGR and bypassing the DPF?

Well, I can't remember for sure either. I've got it set aside in the garage as I'm running an AEM cone filter and redneck cold air intake to make room for the crankcase ventillation filter ... I'll go check it out. Here, hold my beer.

I've never been one to waste money on CAIs, but my background is primarily 4x4/rock crawling. Is there an advantage here outside of the ridiculous hp and fuel economy gains from the manufacturers (like moving the intake away from the manifold)?
Or is the thought similar across the board? |

At least on mine there's a spring loaded baffle thingy. It shouldn't let in hot air from the turbo's unless there's a blockage.

Perhaps I am blind. I do not see the melted hose. I took a guess at what I see as a damaged hose. Is this it?
I re-attached the hoses that TDI mentions that do the DPF pressure differential measurement. They are a flimsy mesh. I don't see those black braided hoses in this photo though. Like i said, i could just be blind. |

Yep that's it.
the hose that you're referring to I'm assuming is the line coming from the actuator (the silver canister in the background of this photo), blue in this pic? That's not where my problem is |

Oh ... maybe it's not the DPF pressure lines then. This is one of the connection points (see arrow) I was talking about.

Yeah that's it, we're on the same page. It was the dpf pressure line and I replaced the pressure sensor as a precautionary measure. Running just fine now. My reference to the blue line was just a guess at the braided line Cuda was talking about.
Thanks for all of the help! |

I guess TDI does win the honorary 6 pack after all then. I wasn't able to slide those tubes on the Ecotune lines very far. Maybe 3/4". I'm thinking a hose clamp on them might be in order to keep them from slipping off.

So if your tubes are a little short to join with the Ecotune pipe you can likely do something similar without issue.

Any chance you could post pictures. I'm having the same issue but am a complete waste when it comes to diesels. I'm planning on doing this myself but am clearly not on the same plane as most of you.

The P/N to this is 13627812806, price is $51 or $31 with CCA discount. I ended up just filling the bolt up with liquid metal and placed it back into the turbo without the hose. The car seems to run fine without it.

Interesting. I wonder if BPC has done the tune that does not need an exhaust pressure sensors. Skeptical. May be Bob can comment.

I'm glad I found this thread! I have the exact same symptoms: diesel smell in the cabin, and a hissing noise from the rear passenger side of the engine compartment upon acceleration under load. The hissing is dramatically reduced when revving in neutral.
Upon inspection, I did indeed find a hose that has been completely melted through. I'm having a bit of trouble identifying the hose, though. Is it part #9 that plugs into #6, the pressure sensor?
